Match of the Day: Real Madrid FC vs. AC Milan
Published by adam | Filed under Champions League, Football (aka soccer), Predictions
In a few hours, the two most historically successful Champions League teams clash in a battle of epic proportions. I think it would be safe to assume that this is the match that everyone will be watching. Although, as of late, Milan has been a team struggling on and off the pitch. Even with the summer transfers for huge amounts of cash, the squad is trying to manage a rather large debt. Can Milan come up with another miracle as they did in their previous match against AS Roma? Down to 10 Milan, Ronaldinho and company came back to beat Roma 2-1, who by the way is having problems their own problems.
Nevertheless, there is world class talent on by sides. Milan needs to take advantage of the absence of Ronaldo as well as the sometimes shaky defense of Real. Real on the other hand, just need to play like Real to carve out a victory and remain undefeated in Group C. Raul, under media and fan criticism, has played outstanding football netting 2 goals in their last match against Valladolid.
The real story perhaps is of Kaká. Kaká faces his former and loved club Milan. Having spent 6 years with Milan, this will certainly be an emotional match for the player. The midfielder has already claimed that if he scores against his former club, he will not celebrate.
As much as I would like to see a good game and route for the underdogs, I have to go with the boys of Madrid. Bet here. Even without superstar Ronaldo, they are too strong of a squad.
