2009/2010 English Premiership Top Goalscorers
Published by adam | Filed under Football (aka soccer), Miscellaneous, Premier League
Here are the current English Premiership leading goalscorers for the 2009/2010 Season. Included are the previous years of 2007/2008 and 2008/2009 seasons.

Wayne Rooney has almost single-handedly kept Manchester United at the top of the title race, as he tops the chart with 21 goals. Rooney however, has played 4 more games (25 total) than Chelsea superstar Didier Drogba, who sits at second place with 17 goals. Drogba was away from league play during his short stint at the African Cup of Nations. The Ivory Coast was knocked out by Algeria in the Quarter Finals of the Knockout Stages. Drogba did lead the league in the 2006/2007 Premiership season with 20 goals and has undoubtedly been a force since. Had Drogba played in those matches, one has to think he would be level or even past Rooney on the goal count. But hats off to old Wayne. Job well done. You deserve it.
Where would a fit and uninjured Fernando Torres (12 goals) find himself and not to mention Robin Van Persie (7) with only 15 and 11 played games respectively?
