Umbro launches the new 2011/12 Manchester City Home Kit (Video)

Umbro goes late 80′s for this one and launches the new Manchester City home kit. Manchester’s disgruntled son, Liam Gallagher was called on to help release the kit with a version of the club’s anthem Blue Moon. The kit features the words Blue Moon and even a sound wave embedded in the fabric. From the pictures, I must say the overall retro style and image of the shirt looks great. Then, when I saw the video (below) I couldn’t help but think about the overworked Chelsea kit. The vertical white stripes on the sides and horizontal shiny blue on the back just take the kit a little too overboard. At least the socks are cool.

“I’ve been a City fan since I was a kid so to be involved with the launch of a new kit is colossal. Manchester City fans are known for having a lot of style and the new shirt looks mega. I love the soundwave idea and the Mod-inspired collar looks proper smart.”
