The Braves (5-1) come home after sweeping their previous series in St. Louis. The lineup has been incredible and has scored five or more runs in four of their six games. They will carry over their hot bats today as they face a Padres (3-3) team struggling to find consistency.

The Padres dropped their first two games to the Rockies but were able to bounce back to win the next two and split the series. However, they are now coming off a loss to a Diamondbacks team that doesn’t have much talent. Xander Bogaerts has been great, but the rest of the lineup has struggled to get their bats going.

The Padres’ offensive struggles will continue on Thursday as they face one of the best young starters in the league. They’ll have Blake Snell on the mound, who gave up three runs in four innings in his first start. He had his strikeout stuff but couldn’t keep runners off the bases. He will improve, but the Braves' offense will be able to do enough to get the win.

Red Sox vs Tigers

  • Time: 1:10 PM EST

  • Starting Pitchers: Chris Sales (Red Sox) vs Spencer Turnbull (Tigers)

  • Moneyline: Red Sox (-154) Tigers (+130)

  • Run Line: Red Sox -1.5 (+106) Tigers +1.5 (-128)

  • Total: Over 8 (-106) Under 8 (-114)

My Pick: Tigers Moneyline (+130)

The Red Sox (2-4) come into this game after being swept at home by the lowly Pirates. Their offense has been a struggle, scoring just two runs over the final two games. The lineup is too good to continue, but they’ll be up against a good pitcher in Spencer Turnbull.

The Tigers opened the season by getting swept by the Rays, but they bounced back to beat the Astros twice. The offense isn’t anywhere near Boston’s, but they have shown more life over the last few games. The good news is that Riley Greene has been fantastic to be his second season in the MLB. The 22-year-old has a .348 average with a home run and stolen base.

The rest of the Tigers’ lineup should be able to get going today as they face Chris Sale. The veteran starter was lit up in his first start since missing most of last season. He gave up seven earned runs and three home runs in three innings. The 34-year-old made just one full start last season and will take time to find his game.

Blue Jays vs Royals

  • Time: 2:10 PM EST

  • Starting Pitchers: Kevin Gausman (Blue Jays), Jordan Lyles (Royals)

  • Moneyline: Blue Jays (-200) Royals (+170)

  • Run Line: Blue Jays -1.5 (-120) Royals +1.5 (+100)

  • Total: Over 8.5 (-115) Under (-105)

Odds Courtest of DraftKings Sportsbook

My Pick: Under 8.5

Both of these teams have struggled to find offense this season. While the Blue Jays have the talent advantage, their inability to put up big numbers has been an issue. The Royals’ top hitter, Salvador Perez, has an average of .267. They have been shut out three times now and were held to just one run last night. That’s a recipe for a low-scoring affair with two good pitchers taking the mound.

Kevin Gausman will be starting for Toronto tonight. He looked good in his first start, with zero earned runs and seven strikeouts. The veteran starter had an impressive 2.30 ERA on the road last season and should be able to replicate that tonight.

Jordan Lyles had a fantastic start to the season, giving up one run and five hits before getting pulled in the sixth. He wasn’t great with Baltimore last season, but a change of scene can do wonders. Lyles also had a much better ERA on the road. He should be good enough to limit to Blue Jays to three runs, which should mean an easy underbet.
