The Rockies take on the Twins in the first game of the day. Colorado is 23-43 in last place in the NL West. Minnesota is 35-31 trailing Cleveland by eight games in the AL Central.
The Rockies are starting Austin Gomber who is 1-3 with a 3.38 ERA. He has a WHIP of 1.20 and is coming off a five-inning performance in which he allowed four runs on six hits against St. Louis.
Pablo Lopez takes the mound for the Twins and he is 5-6 with a 5.45 ERA. He is coming off his worst start of the year against the Yankees allowing seven runs in four innings.
Lopez has not had a great year, but this is a perfect spot to back him against Colorado
Look for the Twins to get production from Ryan Jeffers who is leading the team in home runs and RBIs.
We expect Lopez to bounce back in this matchup and to handle the Rockies.

Atlanta takes on Baltimore on Wednesday night. The Braves are 35-28 in second place in the NL East and are currently +280 to win the division. The Orioles are 43-22 just 2.5 games behind the Yankees in the AL East.
Atlanta is starting Spencer Schwellenbach who is 0-2 with a 8.38 ERA. He has made two starts after recently getting called up to the big leagues. He has struck out 9 batters in 9.2 innings.
Baltimore is going with Cade Povich who is 0-1 with a 10.13 ERA. He has made one start in 2024 going 5.1 innings and allowing six earned runs with four walks.
These starting pitchers have little major league experience and are off to rough starts in their careers.
We expect both offenses to score runs off these pitchers. Both offenses are solid and are not going to make it easy for these 24-year-olds.
The total is sitting at 9.5, and we expect plenty of runs in this matchup.
Bet on Over 9.5 (-104) at FanDuel
Sonny Gray takes the mound against Bailey Falter in a NL Central matchup between the Pirates and Cardinals. Pittsburgh is 31-34 in last place in the division. The Cardinals are 31-33 tied for second place with the Cubs and Reds.
Bailey Falter is 3-3 with a 3.69 ERA in 12 starts this season. He has 44 strikeouts in 68.1 innings as well as a 1.04 WHIP.
Sonny Gray is 7-4 with a 3.21 ERA. He has struck out 82 batters in 61.2 innings putting him toward the top of the league in K/9.
Gray has been terrific this season but is coming off two starts in which he gave up a combined seven earned runs. When he pitches at home he is 4-2 with a 1.60 ERA. Look for him to bounce back and dominate this Pirates roster at Busch Stadium.
Nolan Gorman has hit 14 home runs to go with 32 RBIs in 2024. Look for him to stay hot at the plate and for Gray to go deep into this game.
