This matchup features the first place Phillies against the last place Marlins in the NL East. The Marlins are 29-52 and trail Philadelphia by 24 games. The Phillies are 53-28 and have an eight game lead on the Braves. 

Miami is starting Kyle Tyler who only has six innings on the year. He has recorded three strikeouts and has a WHIP of 1.17. In his last start he went four innings allowing two runs on three hits against Seattle. 

Christopher Sanchez toes the rubber for the Phillies and he is 5-3 with a 2.67 ERA. He has fanned 70 batters in 84.1 innings. Sanchez is 4-1 with a 1.59 ERA at home. 

These two teams have had very different seasons in 2024. The Marlins have the third worst record in baseball while the Phillies have been the best team in the league. 

We expect Philadelphia to dominate this matchup and score many runs off Tyler and the Marlins.

MLB Parlay Picks Today: Cubs vs. Brewers (8:10 PM, EST)

Brewers Moneyline (-136) at FanDuel

The Cubs take on the Brewers in a NL Central matchup. Chicago is 38-44 in last place in the division. Milwaukee is 48-33 leading the Cubs by 10.5 games. 

Chicago is going with Jameson Taillon who is 4-3 with a 2.90 ERA. He has 53 strikeouts in 68.1 innings and a WHIP of 1.27. Taillon will make his eighth start of the year in this matchup. 

Milwaukee is starting Colin Rea who is 6-2 with a 3.62 ERA. He has struck out 54 batters in 82 innings and has given up one earned run in 5.1 innings against the Cubs in 2024.

The Brewers are hitting .255 as a team which ranks fifth best in the league. The Cubs are hitting .230 which ranks 25th. 

We expect the Brewers lineup to get to Taillon early in this game and for Rea to shut down the struggling Chicago offense.

To close out our parlay we are taking the Athletics +1.5 against the Diamondbacks. Oakland is 29-54 in last place in the AL West. Arizona is 39-42 trailing the Dodgers by 11.5 games in the NL West. 

The Athletics are starting JP Sears who is 4-7 with a 5.04 ERA. He has struck out 56 batters in 84 innings and has a 1.33 WHIP. Sears has been solid in 2024 but is coming off his worst start of the year going 1.1 innings allowing eight runs. 

The Diamondbacks are going with Slade Cecconi who is 2-6 with a 5.74 ERA. He has 41 strikeouts in 53.1 innings and has given up eight runs in his last 12 innings. In home games, Cecconi is 0-3 with a 13.15 ERA. 

Arizona is the much better team, but Cecconi has not had a great year. 

Sears has great pitching ability, but has not gotten a ton of run support in 2024. 

We expect the Athletics to score runs off Cecconi and for Sears to give Oakland a great bounce-back start. Look for the Athletics to cover this run line and potentially win this game outright.
