The series between the Toronto Blue Jays and the Baltimore Orioles looks to be an exciting matchup of high-caliber batting and consistent scoring. Both the Blue Jays and the Orioles are two of the best batting teams in the AL as they can account for runs at any big moment.
Thursday’s matchup is set for the end of a high-power hitting series where many players on both sides are going to account for some hits. One of the top bets at the bat in this game is the under/over of Blue Jays rightfielder George Springer for one hit.
Springer is third on the Blue Jays in hits accounted for all season at 67, only behind shortstop Bo Bichette and first baseman Vladimir Guerrero Jr. Springer is on a serious streak of hits accounted for in the last five games with eight hits. He has accounted for three hits in the previous two games versus the Orioles.
The smart answer for most, if not all, bets involving the Oakland Athletics is to bet under most categories. On Thursday, the Oakland Athletics are set to conclude their four-game home series versus the Tampa Bay Rays, where the Athletics have surprisingly won two of the three previous games.
The Rays are going to be into Thursday’s matchup mad knowing their best scenario is to tie this series 2-2. Tampa Bay will be set to start Taj Bradley (4.19 ERA in 38.2 innings pitched) at the mound on Thursday. Bradley will look to limit any chance for the Athletics scoring.
One of the best bets for this game is betting the under of number of runs at one Athletics infielder Aledyms Diaz. In 46 games this season, Diaz only scored 10 total runs, which is the lowest of any player for the Athletics who have played over 45 games.
The AL Central Division is in a mess right now. Two things are for certain in that division, the Minnesota Twins are easily the best team in the division the Detroit Tigers are free-falling after a hopeful start to the season. The Twins and the Tigers meet on the field for the first time this season in a four-game series in Minnesota on Thursday.
The best attribute of the Twins this season has been the success of the pitching game, led by their ace pitcher Sonny Gray. In 72 innings pitched and 13 games started, Gray has allowed 64 hits, only 18 runs, only home run and an ERA of 2.25.
On Thursday, he will get the start against a Tigers’ batting team that is horrendous at the plate. Detroit is ranked last in the AL in runs accounted for (229), last in hits accounted for (489) and 10th in strikeouts encountered (586). Gray should have another stellar game on Thursday as he has been regarded as one of the top pitchers in the MLB this season.
One of the more interesting and risker prop bets this Thursday is set for the over/under of the number of strikeouts for Colorado Rockies pitcher Kyle Freeland. The Rockies have the tough task of playing on the road in a four-game series starting on Thursday against the Atlanta Braves.
The over/under for Freeland to strike out the talented batting team of the Braves is set at 3.5, which isn’t too much of a Major League pitcher to ask for. Against the Braves’ batting team that ranks second in the NL in batting average (.263) and first in on-base percentage (.333) is a tough task.
The key for this bet is the pitching matchups as Freeland will be pitching for the Rockies while A.J. Smith-Shawver (two runs allowed in 7.2 innings pitched) will be starting for the Braves. The Rockies have the big advantage in the pitching game, which could allow Freeland to have a surprisingly solid performance on Thursday.
The series between the Los Angeles Angels and the Texas Rangers has been enjoyable in the first three games of the four-game series. It has been a series the Angels have been a surprise by winning two of the three games versus the Rangers.
On Thursday, the series will conclude with the Rangers set to at over/under of 4.5 runs, where is it believed that it is more believable the team will score less than five runs than over. In two of the three games versus the Angels in the series, the Rangers have scored at least six runs.
The Rangers rank first in the AL this season in runs accounted for (409), first in hits (631), first in batting average (.273) and first in on-base percentage (.341). They will have the challenge of trying to create rhythm at the plate against the Angels’ starting pitcher Shohei Ohtani (3.32 ERA in 76 innings pitched). Texas, however, feels confident in its ability to account for runs through all nine innings, including the time with Ohtani is subbed out.
