The Chicago Cubs hit the road Tuesday to Atlanta to take on the Braves. Chicago is 24-18 on the year which puts them in second place in the NL Central. On the other side, Atlanta is 24-13 on the year, good for second place in the NL East. 

This game includes a very intriguing pitching matchup. Chicago is starting Jameson Taillon in who is 3-0 on the year with a 1.13 ERA. Atlanta is going with lefty Chris Sale who is 5-1 with a 2.95 ERA on the year. 

Sale was fantastic in his last start for the Braves. He faced his old team and tormented them with his elite arsenal of breaking pitches. Sale went six innings, allowed six hits, and struck out ten batters, marking his fourth quality start in a row. 

Sale and Taillon have a combined 8-1 record on the year and have been very successful. Taillon has struck out 16 batters in 24 innings. Sale has struck out 52 batters in 42.2 innings this season.

Blanco has been one of the biggest stories in Major League Baseball this year when he threw a no-hitter in his first outing of the year. Sears has also been pretty solid in Oakland this year as he has 33 strikeouts in 45 innings, along with a 1.13 WHIP. 

Both teams have struggled tremendously on the offensive side this year. Look for both of these starters to dominate early with two inconsistent offenses. 

The Astros rank 13th and the Athletics are 20th in baseball for runs scored. Oakland is one of the best home run hitting teams in the game, but Blanco doesn’t surrender the long ball easily. 

The combination of these two pitchers in this spot have high value for a -115 NRFI.
