NFL Prop Bets Wild Card Round

The AFC and the NFC Playoffs start this Sunday, which means the road to Super Bowl LVIII is nearing its final course. Teams are going to play at their best against other great teams in the league by relying on their star players on both sides of the ball. This weekend will be a stellar opportunity for NFL fans and casual bettors to win significant earnings by betting player props through DraftKings.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Buffalo Bills

My Pick – Josh Allen Prop to Account for Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (+124) at DraftKings

Both the Buffalo Bills and the Pittsburgh Steelers ended the 2023 NFL regular season with a huge winning streak. Now they will meet in the first round of the AFC playoffs. This is going to be a big game for the Bills’ offense as they have seen their play rejuvenated with the mid-season change of offensive coordinator from Ken Dorsey to Joe Brady.

One player who's benefited the most from this change is Bills quarterback Josh Allen. He is attempting to bring his great momentum following the AFC East clinching win on the road versus the Miami Dolphins to take down a tenacious Steelers defense.

Pittsburgh is ranked sixth in the league in points allowed per game (19.1) but 17th in passing yards allowed per game (227.1). The Steelers have also allowed 23 of their 32 allowed touchdowns to come from the passing game. This game is going to be a huge ask for Pittsburgh to contain Allen as they will be without star passer T.J. Watt, who is out with a knee injury.

Los Angeles Rams vs. Detroit Lions

My Pick – Matthew Stafford Prop to Account for Over 1.5 Passing Touchdowns (-145) at DraftKings

This Sunday night is going to be a special moment as Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford goes back to Detroit to take on the Lions in the first round of the NFC playoffs. Stafford was drafted by the Lions in the 2009 NFL Draft. After several great seasons individually and attempting to lead the formerly horribly run franchise into the playoffs, he was traded to the Rams before the 2021 NFL season in return for multiple first-round picks and current Lions quarterback Jared Goff.

Personal stories and homecomings aside, this game is going to be a huge performance for both teams. For Stafford, he is taking on a Lions’ defense that is good but not great. Detroits’ defense ranks 27th in the league in passing yards allowed per game (247.4). The Lions have allowed 28 of 46 total touchdowns allowed to come from the passing game.

Stafford has played at an elite level in the last regular season games played. Except for the 26-25 win at the New York Giants on New Year’s Eve, Stafford has thrown for two or more touchdowns in the previous five games, totaling 14 touchdowns.

Philadelphia Eagles vs. Tampa Bay Buccaneers

My Pick – Antoine Winfield Jr. Prop to Account for Over 2.5 Assisted Tackles (+135) at DraftKings

One of the closest projected games going into the NFC Playoffs is expected to be a battle between the Philadelphia Eagles going on the road to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The Buccaneers are going to have a busy game trying to manage the run-heavy offense of the Eagles with running back De’Andre Swift and dual-threat quarterback Jalen Hurts leading the Eagles.

Tampa Bay finished the regular season ranked 5th in the league in rushing yards allowed per game (95.3) due to the amount of great run stoppers throughout the field, including safety Antoine Winfield Jr. In 17 games played, Winfield has accumulated 122 total with 46 of them being assists. He has accounted for 13 games this season where he assisted in three tackles or more in a game.

This is a game that the Buccaneers’ defense will need to be sharp on to avoid numerous scores on the ground. The good news is that the Eagles have run into a poor state of momentum within the past few weeks.
