The Detroit Lions are coming off a massive Week 15, hanging over 40 on the Denver Broncos. At the same time, the Minnesota Vikings allowed 21 points in the fourth quarter, blowing the lead and losing 27-24 on the road to the Bengals.
Below, we’re focusing on the quarterbacks for our three best prop bets of the game.
With this total sitting at 47 points, it’s far from the largest of the day, but it still indicates a fair bit of offense. The Lions offense is one of the best in the league, averaging over 27 points per game, so the Vikings will need to throw to keep pace, especially with a lackluster rushing attack.
In Week 15, Mullens threw for over 300 and multiple scores, and in a dome, at home, we think he does it again here.
The Lions haven’t allowed a mult-passing touchdown game since Week 12. Still, if you look at their most recent quarterback opponents, they include Russell Wilson, Justin Fields, and Derek Carr. These quarterbacks aren’t known for their passing prowess, especially this season. Wilson routinely throws around 200 yards and a touchdown, Fields rushes plenty, and Carr has been volatile.
The Vikings have excellent weapons in rookie Jordan Addison, who caught two touchdowns last week, and Justin Jefferson could be returning here, too.
Look for a stuffed stat sheet from Mullens here.

When we mentioned “stuffed stat sheet,” we’re including interceptions.
The Lions average 0.64 interceptions per game, and Mullens is a bit of a turnover-prone player.
In his career, Mullens has attempted 701 passes, has 25 interceptions, and made 34 turnover-worthy plays.
He’s a bit of a gun-slinger in his own right. Against the high-octane Lions, he’ll need to match or exceed his attempts in Week 15—33—which could lead to trouble for him.
Expect a pick here.

This should be a fun one. This season, Goff has just 21 rushing yards, and the Vikings allow 18.71 rushing yards per game to opposing quarterbacks. Goff has had one rushing yard or more in five games this season, so why here?
Well, with a prop like this, we’re going to be looking for a short-yardage conversion quarterback sneak or red zone scoring.
This season, the Lions are sixth in red zone scoring percentage at 62.75%, and yes, that only includes touchdowns. Goff has two rushing touchdowns this season, and they came in games where he had two goal-line scores.
It’s possible here against the Vikings, but still, even one small break from the pocket will hit the over here.
