Sports betting has been legal in Arizona since September 2021. Many of the biggest multi-state sportsbooks in the US - like DraftKings, BetMGM, and BetRivers - are already up and running in the Grand Canyon State. Have a look at the best sportsbook bonuses available in Arizona.
The latest addition however is a little closer to home. Desert Diamond Sportsbook is the online sports betting platform of the Desert Diamond Casino, owned and operated by the Tohono O'odham Nation.
We love to see the local options jostling for position with the big dogs, and we’re happy to say that we’ve found plenty to like about Desert Diamond since it launched in 2022.
In this review, our experts are going through the entire platform with a fine-toothed comb to figure out exactly what’s great about Desert Diamond and where we think it can still be improved.
Let’s jump in.

Take it from us - rating a sportsbook is no simple business. There are an awful lot of factors that go into deciding how good a sportsbook really is, and just as importantly, how it stacks up against the alternatives.
We’ve developed a detailed methodology for all of our reviews, which examines each book under a series of individual categories, before putting them all together and assessing the whole package.
We dig deep into things like software, bonuses, types of bets and sports, banking methods, customer support, site security, mobile betting, apps, and much more. It’s a painstaking process, and we do it for every single site we review.
On the whole, Desert Diamond has come through this process with flying colors. There are some things we love (like the on-running promos and the range of sports available) and some things we don’t (like the comparatively small number of payment methods available).
It’s all covered - the good and the bad - in this review.
No one has the same experience with online sportsbooks and casinos that WSN has. Don’t believe us? Just check out our sportsbook page.
We’ve taken the time to get to know just about every major sportsbook in the US, including single-state sites like Desert Diamond. All of our reviews are detailed and honest to a tee - if there’s something we don’t like about a sportsbook, we call it out in plain English for our audience to understand.
Most of all though, our experts are just old-fashioned gambling fans. We love betting on sports and we’ve been doing it most of our adult lives, so we know what to look for and where the experience can fall down.

For the time being, Desert Diamond is exclusively available in the state of Arizona. In fact, it’s even more specific: you must be physically present within Arizona state lines but not on Indian land.
This is part of the legal requirements enforced by the Arizona Department of Gaming in agreement with Indian Nations in the state.
We certainly wouldn’t be shocked if Desert Diamond made the transition into more states in the future, but for now, you can only play on Desert Diamond in Arizona
Bonuses and promotions are extremely important for sportsbooks like Desert Diamond. They represent the main tools available to differentiate themselves from the competition, to convince Arizona residents to choose them rather than one of the big multi-state books.
The team at Desert Diamond have clearly got the memo too because it’s clear that a lot of time and energy has been invested in coming up with interesting promos - both for new and existing players.
The “Promotions” section of the website explains all the offers currently available and how you can claim them, with different promos available for virtually all major sports. We’d recommend hitting this up if you decide to join since the offers get updated all the time, but you can check out a sample below.
We love multipart welcome bonuses, which means new players can get a couple of different promos in one, and Desert Diamond comes through here.
First up, you’ll get a 100% match bonus on your first deposit, which matches out at $250. It’s a good offer, but it’s also true that there are other sites that have a similar bonus but with a higher max available..
But then Desert Diamond also throws in a $25 free bet, which sweetens the deal even more.
But best of all are the wagering requirements - you simply need to bet your entire bonus + your original deposit once to unlock the cash. Every time you place a bet, half will be taken from your bonus cash balance and half from your real money balance.
For example, say you deposit $100 and receive $100 in bonus cash for a total of $200. If you place a $20 bet, $10 of bonus cash will automatically be used along with $10 of regular cash.
All in all, we like this welcome bonus - although the $250 limits could be improved to really go next level. There’s no promo code required to claim the bonus either.
Any time you place a bet on a game involving an Arizona side - college or pro - within an hour before the game starts, you’ll receive a 5% boost on your profits. You can even bet against Arizona and still claim the boost, which we find kind of funny - but we aren’t complaining!
It applies to all kinds of bets too, even if you simply include an Arizona game in your parlay.
This is a simple promo but also fun and valuable: the kind of thing Desert Diamond does well.
This is an on-running promo available on all parlays. All you need to do is build your parlay and select the “Boost” button in the bet slip. For every leg you add after your third leg, you’ll receive a 3% boost.
So, a three-leg parlay gets a 3% boost, a five-leg parlay gets 9%, and so on.
Again, this promo is nice and easy to understand but also a genuine opportunity to win some extra cash.
Here we recommend you check out the Promotions tab yourself, but Desert Diamond tends to have some great offers based around specific sports or upcoming events. Expect further profit boosts, money-back specials or free bets,
Overall, we love the variety of promos at Desert Diamond.
Modern sportsbooks have simplified the signup process to make it as quick and easy as possible, and that’s the case with Desert Diamond. Click the blue “Register” button to get started. There’s just one screen of info to fill out, which you can see below:
You’ll also need to check a few boxes confirming your identity and that you accept the sportsbook's terms and conditions, along with an optional box deciding whether you want to receive promotional news and offers.
Your SSN info is required because Desert Diamond needs to verify the identity of its members. Depending on your info, you may need to provide some additional documentation for this process later.
Finally, click the “register” button and you’re all set!
We’ve got absolutely no complaints about the sign up process, it’s exceptionally simple.
Small paragraph and a list of the most common bet types, like parlays, moneylines, spreads etc.
The betting options at Desert Diamond are very good, and certainly competitive with the other top sportsbooks in Arizona.
The menu is set up in the classic format. Click on a sport and you’ll see the most popular games and bets in that category - normally moneylines, point spreads, and totals for the upcoming round of games.
Click into an individual game and you’ll find the full range of other bets available - which typically means a very healthy range of props for the top sports.
The “Live Right Now” button is a shortcut to Desert Diamond’s in-play section, which has similar betting options. There’s also a Diamond Boosts section, which shows bets that have been chosen for enhanced odds.
Placing bets - including building parlays - is nice and easy thanks to the betslip, which pops up from the bottom of the screen whenever you add a selection.
All in all, we’re very satisfied with the betting options at Desert Diamond. Here’s a list of some of the most popular bets you can find:
We’re also very happy with the range of sports on offer.
The depth is genuinely really impressive, and it feels like Desert Diamond really has an edge over a lot of other books in the variety of sports on offer.
The number of bets on the most popular sports - like the NFL, NBA, MLB, NHL, and soccer - is seriously impressive.
There are also some pretty niche sports on the menu, like surfing and water polo, as well as fun categories like TV and novelty bets.
Below is a full list of the sports available during our Desert Diamond review. Remember, this gets updated from time to time too.
Overall, we like the software at Desert Diamond without being totally blown away at the same time. Let’s unpack that.
First and foremost, and most importantly, the platform is nice and easy to use, and beginner friendly. The entire site is more or less split into two screens - the betting interface and the promotions section. Navigating around, and placing bets, feels natural.
There are some nice touches that improve the user experience too - we like the way the total number of bets are listed beside each corresponding sport in the menu, and how the bet slip hides off the screen when not in use.
The site is pretty minimal, which on the whole is a positive thing for us.
On the flip side of that - it’s not the most exciting platform we’ve ever seen. Desert Diamond has gone for function over style, and some players may prefer something with more bells and whistles.
The FAQ section is good, but it’s hidden at the bottom of the page. We’d prefer to see it in the main menu, along with the Promotions tab.
There is also a Desert Diamond mobile app which we tested out. The user experience feels similar to the desktop site but with a couple of glitches here and there.
That said, it feels like the mobile platform has improved over time, with reviews on the Google Play Store trending favorably.
The banking experience at Desert Diamond is good, but with room to improve.
First up, the actual methods. The most popular types of payments - credit cards, debit cards, bank transfers - are all covered, but there are definitely some absences too. We’d like to see some kind of e-wallet service added for example, like PayPal.
There is a $10 minimum on all deposits, which is fine by us, and the payments arrive instantly, which is great.
When it comes to withdrawing, your money will be sent back to the same method you last used to deposit. This makes sense to us.
In terms of processing times, withdrawals tend to hit your account within between 3-6 business days. This is pretty much standard for the industry - not the fastest we’ve ever seen but certainly not the slowest either.
We’re happy with the overall banking experience at Desert Diamond, although they could do with adding a couple more payment methods.

We’re more than satisfied with Desert Diamond from a legal and security perspective. The sportsbooks is the online sports betting platform of the Desert Diamond Casino, owned and operated by the Tohono O'odham Nation since 1999.
While multi-state or even international sportsbooks are equally scrupulous when it comes to adhering to local laws and regulations, there is still something reassuring about choosing a platform with deep roots in Arizona and multiple physical locations too.
Desert Diamond is fully licensed and regulated by the Arizona Department of Gaming, a legal requirement for all sportsbooks in the state. The ADG exists to make sure all its licensed platforms are operating fairly, and to provide consumer protection in the matter of disputes.
For its part, we have no security concerns about Desert Diamond. All of your personal information is protected and not shared with third parties.
There are also links and resources to promote responsible gambling displayed on the site, which is good to see.
The customer support at Desert Diamonds is good, and with a couple of tweaks, it could be really excellent.
First the positives: we like that the chat support button is always visible on the page in the bottom right corner. The FAQ section is detailed and thorough, and nine times out of ten you’ll find whatever you’re looking for here. There’s also a telephone support line, which is not always the case and is very welcome indeed.
And the potential improvements: the chat support is not 24 hours and instead only runs during business hours. While the FAQ section is great, it’s a little hidden at the bottom of the page. We’d like to see it included in the main menu, which would make it easier to access and mean the platform feels a little more built out in general.
