Alistair Overeem (45-17-1)

Mixed martial arts legend Alistair Overeem will put his two-fight win streak on the line when he steps into the octagon for the main event Saturday night.

Overeem last saw action on April 20 when he faces Alexei Oleynik in Russia.

Overeem defeated Oleynik via first-round TKO.

Prior to that fight, Overeem best Sergei Pavlovich in the first round of their bout late last year, winning by TKO as well.

The former Strikeforce and K-1 champion has gone 4-2 in his last six UFC appearances.

For the past two years, the striking specialist has been training with the Elevation Fight Team with coach Eliot Marshall.

Known for his muay thai techniques, Overeem also has a blue belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He has been fighting professionally since 1999 and is currently ranked as the sixth-best heavyweight in the UFC.

Jairzinho Rozenstruik (9-0)

Height: 6 ft. 2 in.

Reach: 78 in.

Age: 31

Jairzinho Rozenstruik is a relative newcomer to the UFC and this fight against Overeem will be his fourth fight for the organization and his first main event.

Rozenstruik replaces original opponent Walt Harris, who had to pull out due to the on-going search for his missing step-daughter.

Rozenstruik takes this fight with just three weeks’ notice and after having already fought just one month ago.

His last fight came against former UFC heavyweight champion Andrei Arlovski on November 2. Rozenstruik knocked Arlovski out in just 29 seconds.

The Surinamese fighter trains with team Bigi Boy and Hard Knocks 365 with trainer Michael Babb. He has a total of 85 kickboxing bouts under his belt and has been fighting since 2009. He breaks the top-15 in the UFC, ranked as the 14th-best in the heavyweight division.

Marina Rodriguez (12-0-1)

Height: 5 ft. 7 in.

Age: 32

Showcased on the Dana White Contender Series, Marina Rodriguez made her UFC debut in September of last year, battling to a majority draw against Randa Markos.

Since then, the undefeated fighter has won two fights in a row against Jessica Aguilar and, most recently, Tecia Torres. Rodriguez won both of those fights via unanimous decision.

Fighting since only 2015, the Brazilian fighter trains with Thai Brasil and AS Team with coaches Alexandre de Souza and Marcio Malko. At the time of writing, Rodriguez is ranked as the ninth-best strawweight in the UFC.

Cynthia Calvillo (8-1)

Height: 5 ft. 4 in.

Reach: 64 in.

Age: 32

Cynthia Calvillo will be making her seventh appearance in the octagon when she takes on Rodriguez.

Having a 5-1 record in the UFC, Calvillo is currently riding a two-fight winning streak. After a loss to Carla Esparza, Calvillo choked out Poliana Botelho last year and, more recently, won a unanimous decision over Cortney Casey in February.

Calvillo’s last three fights weren’t without controversy, however, as she missed weight twice and tested positive for marijuana metabolites once.

Calvillo currently trains with Team Alpha Male in Sacramento, California.

The American-born fighter has been fighting professionally since 2010 and is currently ranked at number ten in the UFC strawweight division.

Stefan Struve (29-11)

Age: 31

The tallest fighter in the UFC has not retired after all.

Stefan Struve last fought on February 23 against Marcos Rogerio de Lima and won the bout via second-round arm-triangle choke. After the fight, Struve announced his retirement from the sport of MMA.

However, after a brief hiatus, it was announced that Struve had signed a new six-fight deal with the UFC. Prior to his latest victory, Struve had been riding a three-fight losing streak.

The Dutch “Skyscraper” trains with the Blackzilians and Combat Club and currently holds a brown belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. A former kickboxer, Struve has been fighting professionally since 2005.

He is currently unranked by the UFC.

Ben Rothwell (36-12)

Height: 6 ft. 4 in.

Reach: 78.5 in.

Age: 38

After a four-fight winning streak that spanned from 2013 to 2016 that la win over main event fighter Alistair Overeem, Ben Rothwell now finds himself amidst a three-fight losing skid. Rothwell has fought Junior dos Santos, Blagoy Ivanov, and, most recently, Andrei Arlovski back in July.

Rothwell lost all three of these bouts via unanimous decision.

The American fighter trains at Rothwell MMA as well as with Roufusport with trainers Thiago Veiga and Luiz Claudio.

Fighting since 2001, Rothwell has a purple belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He is also unranked in the UFC heavyweight division.

Aspen Ladd (8-1)

For the first time in her career, Aspen Ladd is coming off of a loss.

The UFC prospect suffered her first defeat in her last fight back on July 13. Ladd faced off against former UFC featherweight champion Germaine de Randamie.

After what appeared to be a seriously difficult weight cut for Ladd, she was stopped by de Randamie via TKO just 16 seconds into their fight. Prior to that, she was undefeated, including three wins in the UFC.

Ladd trains with MMA GOLD and has been fighting professionally since 2015. She holds a purple belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and is currently ranked as the fifth-best bantamweight in the UFC.

Yana Kunitskaya (12-4-1)

Height: 5 ft. 8 in.

Reach: 68.5 in.

Age: 30

After losing her debut UFC appearance in a featherweight title fight against the dominant Cris Cyborg, Kunitskaya has gone on to win her next two UFC fights in a row.

In 2018, she defeated Lina Lansberg and earlier this year on March 9, Kunitskaya defeated Marion Reneau. She won both of those fights via unanimous decision.

The Russian-born fighter has spent her MMA years training with the famous Jackson-Wink Academy and is known for her gaidojutsu techniques. She is currently ranked as the seventh-best bantamweight in the UFC.

Cody Stamann (18-2)

Age: 30

After a ten-fight winning streak, that also saw three in a row in the UFC, Cody Stamann was handed only the second loss of his career by Aljamain Sterling in late 2018.

However, Stamann bounced back in his last fight when he took on Alejandro Perez at UFC 235 and defeated him via unanimous decision.

Training with Michigan Top Team with coach Daron Cruickshank, Stamann has NCAA division II wrestling credentials as well as a blue belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

He has been fighting since 2010 and is ranked at number nine in the UFC bantamweight division.

Song Yadong (14-3-2)

Height: 5 ft. 8 in.

Reach: 67 in.

Age: 21

Song Yadong has not lost a fight since 2016.

Currently riding a seven-fight win streak, Yadong has won all four of his UFC appearances. Most recently, Yadong squared off against the last man to fight Cody Stamann as well – Alejandro Perez.

Unlike Stamann who won by decision, however, Yadong knocked Perez out cold in the first round of their fight.

The Chinese fighter trains out of Sacramento with the Team Alpha Male team. Known for his Sanda and BJJ styles, the “Kung Fu Monkey” has been fighting since 2013 and is currently ranked as the 13th-best bantamweight in the UFC.

Mickey Gall was expected to face Carlos Condit on this Saturday’s card but Condit was forced to pull out of the fight on November 13 due to a detached retina. The UFC is actively seeking a replacement opponent but none has been found at the time of writing.

Since winning his first three fights in the UFC, Mickey Gall has gone just 2-2 in the Octagon.

After losing to Diego Sanchez via TKO back in March, Gall bounced back with a unanimous decision win over Salim Touahri on August 3.

The American fighter trains with the Gracie New Jersey Academy and with Miller Brothers MMA. He has a black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu under David Adiv and has been fighting professionally since 2015. He is currently unranked in the UFC welterweight division.
