Thursday gives us an abbreviated MLB schedule, but it is still giving us some valuable prop picks. We just had to find the best place among the seven games on the schedule to focus our attention. The result was focusing on members of the Yankees and Royals, hoping to exploit what we think are favorable matchups. The odds we’re using are from DraftKings Sportsbook, which has a welcome offer of $200 in bonus bets for new users who sign up and place a $5 bet.

Greene has had some ups and downs this year, but striking batters out is the thing he does best. Granted, he’s been capped at six strikeouts or less in his last three starts. But he also has three starts with at least seven strikeouts, and he didn't even finish five innings in two of those starts. Greene has also tossed 12.2 scoreless innings over his last two starts. He’s looking good and should be able to strike out a lot of batters in a day game. The entire Arizona roster has 25 at-bats against Greene with nine strikeouts. That’s better than a strikeout every three at-bats, which makes us think Greene can get to seven punch-outs.

Stroman has allowed at least three earned runs in three of his last five starts. He’s also walked five batters in each of his last two starts. But he’s also capable of pitching at a high level. On Thursday, he’ll face a Houston team that has a top-heavy lineup and has lost four straight games. Also, outside of Jose Altuve, nobody on the Astros has a good track record against Stroman. In an unusual 5:05 start time, we’ll favor Stroman to have a good outing and hold the struggling Astros to two runs or less.
This isn’t the first time we’ve targeted Soto for multiple bases, and it probably won’t be the last. The guy is hitting .338 with 17 extra-base hits on the season. Equally important, Soto has had back-to-back three-hit games against the Astros. To be fair, he's never faced Ronel Blanco, who starts for Houston on Thursday. Blanco has been great this year, although he’s come back to earth a little since his no-hitter. It won’t be easy for the youngster to deal with a red-hot Soto, who we think will stay hot.

We won’t deny there is a little risk to this bet. Wacha is rocking a 5.50 ERA and has allowed at least eight hits in four of his last five starts. However, he’s looked great in his two starts this year against the White Sox, and the Angels are nearly as bad. This is more about fading the Angels than it is backing Wacha. With nearly half of their regulars out of the lineup, even Wacha should be able to hold them to five hits or less over four or five innings.
If you’re not familiar with Pasquantino, now is a good time to get to know him. The slugger has 22 RBI in 36 games this year thanks to 10 doubles and four homers. He also has five hits and four RBI over in his last two games, so he's in a good groove at the moment. On Thursday, Pasquantino and the Royals face Reid Detmers, who has allowed 16 runs over his last three starts. Not only is Pasquantino 2 for 3 with a homer against Detmers, but he also hits behind Bobby Witt Jr., giving him RBI opportunities. He also has Salvador Perez behind him, giving him protection. That makes him a great RBI candidate against a struggling pitcher.
