Best MLB Prop Bets Today 2024 06 05

There is something about the weather in early June that has us favoring mostly hitters on Wednesday. As you’ll see, we've kept our prop bets limited to the evening games since day games tend to favor pitchers. We're even picking on some good pitchers with our MLB props, which shows just how much we think there will be a lot of hits and runs on Wednesday. The odds we’re using are from Caesars Sportsbook, which is offering new users a safety net bet of up to $1,000 on their first wager when using our promo code WSN1000.

Best MLB Prop Bets Today: Royals vs. Guardians (6:40 PM, EST)

Brady Singer Over 2.5 ER (-137) at Caesars

Singer is someone we're surprised to be fading on Wednesday. He's only allowed more than 2.5 ERA in two of his 11 starts this year. However, his numbers against several of Cleveland's hitters are downright awful. Bo Naylor and Jose Ramirez are a combined 14 for 30 with six extra-base hits against him. Andres Gimenez, Will Brennan, and a few others have also had considerable success against Singer. The Guards are 20 games over .500, so we’re going to take a chance on them getting the better of Singer.

Anthony Volpe Over 1.5 Total Bases (+100) at Caesars

We're not sure why we haven't backed Volpe more frequently this year. He's been a huge catalyst for the Yankees and has just one hitless game in the last month. Volpe also has multiple hits in six of his last 12 games. He also has five extra-base hits during that span, giving him multiple paths to going over 1.5 total bases. Volpe is also 2 for 4 with a double in his career against Minnesota starter Chris Paddack, which is another reason to like this bet.

Adley Rutschman Over 1.5 Total Bases (+118) at Caesars

We almost faded Toronto starter Jose Berrios, but we'll just get behind Rutschman instead. The Baltimore catcher has an eight-game hitting streak and has gone over 1.5 total bases four times in those eight games. More importantly, he has crushed Berrios, going 12 for 19 with two doubles and three home runs. Those numbers alone are enough to back Rutschman. But the fact that he's swinging a hot bat makes us even more confident.

Kenta Maeda Under 15.5 Outs Recorded (-121) at Caesars

The Texas lineup has gone a little cold lately, but that doesn't overshadow the fact that Maeda has been bad this year. He owns a 6.25 ERA and didn't show any signs of getting better in May. There are many ways to fade him, but the safest is to bet on a short outing. Even when he pitched well two starts ago, he was pulled after five innings. Maeda has recorded an out in the sixth inning just three times in nine starts. He also has dreadful career numbers against several members of the Rangers, which is why we foresee a short outing.

Marcus Semien Over 0.5 Runs Scored (-117) at Caesars

Semien is one of those hitters who has had past success against Maeda, going 3 for 5 with a home run against him. That might sound like a small sample, but Semien also has a five-game hitting streak, going 8 for 18 with four walks during that stretch. He figures to get on base against Maeda, putting him in a position to score a run, especially since the hitters behind him also have a strong track record against Maeda. Semien has scored at least one run in five of his last seven games, so we like our chances with this bet.
