This Monday is set to bring several opportunities to get in the action with no runs account for in the first inning. There are a set of games that will be highlighted by the great pitching matchups presented. Some of these games, however, will not feature betting opportunities.
That doesn't mean that there aren't any games with significant value. One game immediately brought into perspective is the matchup between the Seattle Mariners going on the road to take on the Minnesota Twins in a new three-game series. Not only do the offenses help create the storyline for this potential bet, but the pitching matchups are certainly going to be a huge factor in this game.

Among the most underrated series this night, the series between the Seattle Mariners (19-15) and the Minnesota Twins (19-14) will settle serious bragging rights and push for the race in NL playoff appearance. This game has the potential to be an incredibly low-scoring game based on the projected starting pitchers for both teams and how inefficient they are and starting the game at the plate.
The Mariners are on a serious hot streak as they have won the last six series played, including at Houston, at home against Atlanta, at home against Arizona, and at Texas. As a result, the Mariners are now ranked first in the AL West. Seattle's offense hasn't been elite, but their defense has been great as they have managed to win despite only accounting for six or more runs in the last 12 games played.
The Mariners are starting one of the most experienced starting pictures on their team in Luis Castillo. In seven games played and started, Castillo has allowed an average of 2.42 runs per game and has a season ERA of 3.46. He has allowed only two runs scored in the first inning into completely different games.
The Mariners are facing the Twins offense that ranks 25th in the league and runs the counter in the first inning (0.33). There is a solid chance that the Castillo and the Mariners will have another productive performance against a good, but slow-starting Twins offense.
The Twins are set to start 23-year-old Simeon Woods Richardson, who has played well in the 14.2 innings and three games played. Richardson has accounted for a season ERA of 2.45 and only four runs allowed.
He hasn’t allowed a single run scored in the first inning of three games started. Richardson has shown to be one of the most efficient young pitchers this season. He will face off against the Mariners' offense that ranks 24th in the league in runs accounted for in the first inning (0.35).
