Head Coach: David Akinyooye
Key Players: Chet Holmgren, Jalen Williams, Jaylin Williams
The Oklahoma City Thunder enter the Las Vegas Summer League as the favorite to win the title. 2023 All-Rookie team member Jalen Williams leads them. Combined with their depth of talent, including Jaylin Williams, Ousmane Dieng, and Jared Butler, the Thunder project to be one of the tournament's top two-way teams.
All eyes will be on Oklahoma City's incoming rookie sensations, Cason Wallace and Chet Holmgren. Wallace, a 6-4 point guard out of Kentucky, is a speedy and gritty player on both ends of the court that should shore up the backup point guard position for OKC. Chet Holmgren, finally debuting in the NBA after his season-ending surgery in 2022, is sure to thrill fans with his all-around skill at a wirey 7-0, 195 lb.
Head Coach: Jarrett Jack
Key Players: Jaden Ivey, Jalen Duren, Ausar Thompson, James Wiseman
The Detroit Pistons have re-tooled this summer after signing former NBA Coach of the Year Monty Williams and adding well-respected assistant and former NBA point guard Jarrett Jack to the coaching staff. They'll now pit their young talents against some of the best in the NBA, led by Jaden Ivey.
A member of the 2023 All-Rookie team, Jaden Ivey is an aggressive two-way point guard who suits the NBA Summer League's style to a tee. He'll be flanked by two talented big men in Jalen Duren and James Wiseman - both players aiming to be starters for Monty Williams' 2023 Pistons team. It will also be fans' first look at 2023 Draft pick Ausar Thompson, an incredibly athletic forward out of Overtime Elite who will have his first taste of NBA-level competition.
Head Coach: Jonah Herscu
Key Players: Scoot Henderson, Shaedon Sharpe, Kris Murray
With the future in doubt for the Portland Trail Blazers' NBA Championship hopes, all eyes are on their young players who might create a new era of success should Damian Lillard finally leave the team. Longtime player development specialist and Trail Blazers assistant coach Jonah Herscu will lead one of the tournament's most electric sides.
The Trail Blazers will be led by 6-2 point guard Scoot Henderson, who was drafted third overall from G-League Ignite. A physically imposing guard with athleticism reminiscent of Derrick Rose and John Wall, Henderson will undoubtedly be one of the tournament's most-watched stars. Flanked by high-flier Shaedon Sharpe and stretch-big Kris Murray, the Trail Blazers may be the most dynamic team of the tournament.
Head Coach: Jannero Pargo
Key Players: Bennedict Mathurin, Andrew Nembhard, Jarace Walker
The Indiana Pacers hope to use the Summer League to build on the success of their rookie class from 2022. Under the tutelage of Summer League coach Jannero Pargo, the Indiana Pacers may boast the best backcourt in the tournament.
Coming off of a 2023 All-Rookie winning campaign, Bennedict Mathurin may be the best wing player in the tournament. A tenacious scorer, Mathurin will be the most significant contributor to the Pacers' scoring and chances at success. He'll be flanked by fellow Canadian Andrew Nembhard, who established himself as one of his class's most talented point guards. While their depth is nothing to write about, the Pacers' backcourt will give every team problems.
Many talents are gracing the NBA Summer League stage, but the Oklahoma City Thunder are the favorites. Behind the leadership of Jalen Williams and a healthy Chet Holmgren, their diversity and depth should lead them toward their first Summer League title.
The 2022 NBA Las Vegas Summer League winners were the Portland Trail Blazers, led by Championship MVP Trendon Watford.

The NBA Summer League has a slightly different rule structure from that played in the NBA. Games are 40 minutes long, using four ten-minute quarters - instead of the usual 48-minute matches of the NBA.Regarding overtime, Summer League games will use a two-minute overtime session instead of the standard five-minute period seen in the NBA. If there is no winner after the first overtime, the game goes into a sudden death period, where the first team to score wins the match.Lastly, to maintain court time and the development aspect of some of the league's rising stars, the foul count before ejection is raised to ten instead of the standard six.
If you're a fan or a bettor, you can watch the NBA Summer League on ESPN, EPSN2, ESPNU, and NBA TV!
The 2023 NBA Las Vegas Summer League will occur between Friday, July 7th, 2023, and Monday, July 17, 2023.
The 2023 NBA Las Vegas Summer League is hosted at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas (UNLV)'s Thomas & Mack Center and the Cox Pavilion.
The NBA's Las Vegas Summer League has hosted non-NBA teams in its off-season tournament. Most notably, the China National Basketball Team and the G-League Select have participated in the past.
