Best Chiefs vs. Raiders Prop Bets NFL Week 12

This AFC West battle is one of the highlights from Sunday’s slate of games. It features a slumping Chiefs team facing the surging Raiders. While Kansas City’s division lead is still safe, a win for Vegas would bring their record back to .500 and revive their playoff hopes.

Travis Kelce has not been himself this season. While we aren’t sure we are buying that outside distractions are the cause, we are alarmed to hear him openly talk about retiring. The legendary tight end has been held under 71 yards in seven of his nine games this season. Kansas City’s league-worst receiving corps certainly hasn’t helped things, dropping passes and allowing defenses to key in on Kelce. He has just 116 combined yards in his previous three games, and we don’t see things improving for him today.

While the Raiders’ defense has some significant holes, they have been playing at a much higher level since the departure of head coach Josh McDaniels. They also have done far better than other teams against Kelce recently, holding him to a combined 63 yards in two games.

Pick: Aidan O’Connell Under 194.5 Passing Yard (-113 at FanDuel Sportsbook)

Aidan O’Connell has helped the Raiders turn their season around over the last few weeks, but it hasn’t been pretty. The rookie fourth-round draft pick has completed less than 60% of his passes in two straight games. While he threw for 271 yards against the Dolphins in their last game, he managed just 153 against the Jets. The Chiefs' defense has been as good, if not better, than the Jets this season, signaling another low yardage total is likely. 

The Chiefs own one of the NFL’s top five pass defenses. They are allowing the fourth-fewest passing yards per game (170.8) and have allowed the fourth-fewest touchdowns through the air (12). Defensive tackle Chris Jones has started to get hot, which will only serve to make O’Connell’s job even more difficult today. The Chiefs will be determined to win after losing two of their last three, and we think it leads to a stellar outing from the defense.

Pick: Chris Jones Over 0.75 Sacks (-140 at DraftKings Sportsbook)

Jones has not seen the same success he had in 2022, but things are starting to turn around. He is coming off a 2-sack game against a great Eagles team. He had no problem getting through their offensive line, which has allowed the same number of sacks as the Raiders (27). We see him thriving against a rookie quarterback, leading yet another impressive defensive attack.

Chris Jones and the Chiefs have yet to face the Raiders this season, but the big lineman did face them once last season. He finished the game with 2.5 sacks and a whopping six QB hits. That kind of success builds confidence for stars like Jones and usually leads to more impressive games.
