Monday Night Football will start with a bang in 2023 with an AFC East battle. The New York Jets will host their AFC East rival, the Buffalo Bills, in a must-win game. New York’s schedule in the first half of the season is brutal, and things can go wrong quickly with a loss.

The Bills disappointingly ended the season, losing to the Bengals at home in the playoffs. There are thoughts the Bills can’t get over the hump, so they have a lot to prove early in 2023. Picking a side in this game can be very difficult, so we’re leaning towards the props at WSN

Josh Allen Under 253.5 Passing Yards (-110) on DraftKings

Josh Allen has been one of the most dominant quarterbacks in the NFL over the past couple of seasons. However, his domination has almost drowned out the fact that he led the NFL in turnovers last season. Allen did not just throw picks but was also a consistent fumbler in 2023.

The Bills have a lot to prove this season, and Allen has stated he is committed to not turning the ball over. For Allen not to turn the ball over, he must take a more conservative approach with the ball. This should limit the number of yards he racks up through the air.

Allen won’t have it easy against the New York Jets, who have a lot of hype coming into the season. Buffalo is on the road, which makes their task very difficult, especially with all the excitement around the Jets.

New York is very good against the pass as well. The Jets ranked first in the Cold, Hard Football Facts Defensive Passer Rating metric. This is an efficient rating for defending the pass, and the Jets did everything right in the secondary last year.

The team also ranked second in Defensive Real Passing Yards per Attempt. They generated a lot of pressure on the quarterback, which led to limited yards per attempt. If the Jets can limit the big plays and stick to their scheme, they can shut down Allen’s yards through the air.

Garrett Wilson Over 69.5 Receiving Yards (-110) on DraftKings

Garrett Wilson is one of the best young receivers in the NFL. He had a fantastic season in 2022 and didn’t have a great quarterback to work with throughout the year. Zach Wilson was terrible and ranked last in the Cold, Hard Football Facts Real Quarterback Rating metric.

This stat shows how good Wilson was, as he caught 83 passes for 1103 yards with four touchdowns despite having Wilson as his quarterback. His touchdown numbers will go through the roof this season with Aaron Rodgers. Rodgers is having fun playing football, which is dangerous for any opponent.

The Bills played well against the pass last season. They were the fifth-ranked unit in Defensive Passer Rating and sixth in Defensive Real Passer Rating. Buffalo’s secondary should be strong once again this year, but Wilson is good enough to make plays against the best defenders.

Buffalo couldn’t stop Wilson last season, as he caught 14 passes for 170 yards. We believe he will have a massive night once again and help lead the Jets to a victory to begin the season.

Stefon Diggs Under 69.5 Receiving Yards (-110) on DraftKings

Stefon Diggs is one of the most talented receivers in the NFL. However, he isn’t happy playing in Buffalo, which doesn’t result in high production. We believe it will be a slow start to the season for Allen, and this will also hurt Diggs.

Diggs can hit the over of 69.5 yards with a few catches, but the Jets passing defense has been so good, and they’ll only be better in year three under Robert Saleh.

Diggs last game against the Jets will follow a similar trajectory to Monday’s contest. On December 11, he caught three passes on five targets for 37 yards. Look for Saleh’s squad to emphasize Diggs in the passing game, resulting in an under on his receiving total.
