The Saints beat the Panthers 47-10 in Week 1
The Cowboys took down the Browns 33-17 last week
Dallas is a touchdown favorite over New Orleans
The New Orleans Saints and Dallas Cowboys will battle inside AT&T Stadium on Sunday to advance to 2-0. The Saints opened the season with a dominant win over the Panthers by 37 points.
The Cowboys were an underdog to the Browns in the season opener, but they won by 16 points. Dallas made Deshaun Watson and company look silly throughout the contest, and they intend to do the same to Derek Carr on Sunday.
The opening kickoff is scheduled for 1:00 PM EST, and the Cowboys are laying 6.5 points in this contest.

Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
---|---|---|---|
Saints | +6.5 (-110) | +230 | Over 45.5 (-110) |
Cowboys | -6.5 (-110) | -280 | Under 45.5 (-110) |
My Pick: Dallas -6.5 at FanDuel Sportsbook
This game's most viable betting option is the Cowboys to cover the spread. New Orleans surprised the football world with their dominant win, but it’s time to pump the brakes.
New Orleans took down the Panthers, one of the worst teams in the NFL. Dallas dominated the Browns, which was a much more impressive victory.

The New Orleans Saints will have some trouble against the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas is stacked in all areas of its team, and Jerry Jones has paid its star players.
One of the reasons the Cowboys played so well on Sunday was because the franchise extended Dak Prescott before the game. This came right after they extended CeeDee Lamb, so the Cowboys have the framework of their offense for years to come, and the players don’t have to worry about getting paid.
If New Orleans can’t shut down Dallas’ offense, they will have difficulty keeping pace offensively.
The Saints won’t be in the Super Bowl this season, but they will contend for a playoff spot through an NFC South title. The Saints had a great win to start the year, but they peaked.
Derek Carr showed more in this game than he did all season. Carr was 19 of 23 for 200 yards with three touchdowns. Alvin Kamara had 110 yards of offense with a touchdown.
New Orleans had two interceptions, making Bryce Young look silly throughout the game. This was a perfectly executed game plan for the Saints, but they can’t be judged based on what they did against the Panthers.
They will face a much more formidable challenge on the road against Dallas. The Cowboys are better in every area than the Panthers, and we don’t believe the Saints will have much success running the ball.
If the Cowboys can force the Saints to put the contest on Carr, it should expose New Orleans’ flaws.

The Cowboys have the better team coming into this matchup, and while they’re a touchdown favorite, it’s best to lay the points. While Dak Prescott and the Cowboys haven’t been able to get over the hump, they’re still one of the best teams in the NFC.
Prescott is coming off an efficient game against the Browns. He was 19 of 32 for 179 yards and a touchdown. The team also ran the ball 25 times for 102 yards with a score.
Dallas dominated Cleveland because of its defense. It’s a well-rounded team, and it made Watson look like a terrible quarterback.
Watson threw two interceptions, and one resulted in a touchdown. They held Cleveland to just 3,3 yards per play and sacked Watson six times.
Carr has proven he can’t handle a relentless pass rush, which is exactly what the Cowboys will bring for 60 minutes.
