  • Over 2.5 turnovers (-110)
  • Cairo Santos over 1.5 extra points made (-130)

Combined Odds +420 at DraftKings Sportsbook

This weekend’s Sunday Night Football matchup features two teams that are desperate for their third win of the season. While it might not be the most attractive game, many tempting bets are available.

The Bears have turned their season around over the last three weeks. They have won two of their previous three games, including blowouts against the Commanders and Raiders. While Justin Fields remains out, it is clear this Chicago team is starting to gain some confidence.

The Chargers are off to a rough start in 2023 and have now lost two straight games. The offense has felt the loss of Mike Williams, but the defense has been the bigger problem.

If you want to get in on the action on Sunday night, we have you covered. Below, we will break down our favorite same-game parlay for this primetime matchup, giving you the odds and insights you need to bet confidently.

Chicago Bears +8.5 (-110 at DraftKings)

This is not the same Bears team we saw through the season's first three weeks. Things started to turn in Week 5 with a 40-20 road win against Commanders. They came a touchdown short of beating the Vikings in Week 6 and demolished the Raiders last weekend.

A big reason for their success has been their defense, which is finally playing up to offseason expectations. They have surrendered 51 points over their last three games, which includes two good offenses in the Vikings and Commanders.

While the Chargers have more playmakers than both of those teams, they haven’t been as successful in 2023. They have scored 17 points in two straight games as they attempt to force the pass without a run game to rely on. The biggest red flag is their play against the Cowboys, where they failed to expose their battered secondary. Given how well the Bears' defense has been playing, we think they will successfully contain LA again this week.

The Bears’ offense has played well under quarterback Tyson Bagent, who should find some success against a Chargers defense that ranks last against the pass (310.0 PTS/G). The Bears have scored at least 30 points in two of their previous three games, and we think they have another strong showing on Sunday Night.

Bears over 17.5 points (-112 at DraftKings)

The Chicago offense has come alive over the last three weeks, outsourcing opponents 83-51. We like their chances for another big game on Sunday, thanks to the play of quarterback Tyson Bagent. He was solid in his first career start last week, completing 72.4% of his passes for 162 yards and a touchdown. The undrafted rookie isn’t making plays deep, but he is consistently leading Chicago down the field.

Bagent will have an easy test for his second start. The Chargers are allowing the most passing yards in the league after allowing Patrick Mahomes to throw for over 400 yards and four touchdowns. Bagent is far from the player that Mahomes is, but he won’t need to be in order to do some damage against the Chargers.

We also like the way D’Onta Forman played as the Bears lead back. He went for 89 yards on 16 carries (5.6 YPC) and scored three combined touchdowns. He is a solid rusher and pass catcher, giving his rookie quarterback a reliable safety net.

Over 2.5 turnovers (-110 at DraftKings)

This is our favorite bet of the parlay, as both teams have quarterbacks who can turn the ball over. Justin Herbert has four interceptions in his previous three games. After a red-hot start, the 25-year-old has been struggling of late. He has completed less than 60% of his passes in three straight games. The loss of Mike Williams has taken a toll, but something else may be off with the talented passer.

We still don’t know much about Tyson Bagent, but betting on undrafted rookies to turn the ball over is always wise. He had an interception after taking over for Fields two weeks ago but did manage to keep things clean against the Raiders last week. While LA’s secondary is weak, their pass rush will make Bagent’s life very difficult. Khalil Mack, Morgan Fox, and Joey Bosa have all had success getting to the quarterback this season, which will rattle the rookie into making mistakes on Sunday night.

Cairo Santos over 1.5 extra points made (-130 at DraftKings)

This is an easy leg to add since we are also taking them to score over 17 points. Chicago has scored at least 30 points in two of their previous three games, and a shaky Chargers’ defense should give them an opportunity for another big showing tonight.

Cairo Santos has had a fantastic start to the 2023 season. He is 11 for 11 on field goal attempts and 15-16 on extra points. He has made at least three extra points in three of the Bears’ previous four games, which is a trend that will continue this week.
