The New York Rangers made several big moves right before the trade deadline to improve their team on both ends of the ice. Among the biggest moves was trading for Seattle Kraken center Alex Wennberg. He is a player that not only solidifies depth, but he is also going to provide great contributions on offense and defense.
He is already off to a great start with the Rangers, as he accounted for an assist in the 4-0 home win over the St. Louis Blues this past Saturday. Before being traded, he accounted for 25 points, with 16 of them being assists on a bad Kraken offense. He did account for three points in the last three games played for Seattle.
The Devils are attempting to fix their defense, which ranks 27th in the league in goals allowed per game (3.48). The trade for Montreal Canadiens goalie Jack Allen should help, but there are more problems with the defense. The Rangers have outscored the Devils 10-4 in two games this season. Look for another big offensive performance from the Rangers tonight and new center Wennberg.

The Boston Bruins have been one of the most efficient Eastern Conference teams this season due to a stacked and talented roster. Center David Pastrnak and forward Brad Marchand are two of the most explosive players for the Bruins.
They have also been relying on other key players to create momentum. One of those players is center Pavel Zacha, who has played great through the second half of the season. In 17 games since the NHL All-Star Break, Zacha has accounted for 13 points, with seven being goals. He has accounted for seven points in the last four games for the Bruins.
Boston will need players like Zacha to take the pressure off Pastrnak and Marchand as the Bruins take on the defense of the St. Louis Blues, who are finding their rhythm. Zacha has lately accounted for points against soft defenses like the Toronto Maple Leafs and top-tier defensive units such as the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Edmonton Oilers.

Another team that made serious moves to improve their roster just before the chase of the playoffs to get closer are the Winnipeg Jets. The Jets traded for New Jersey Devils forward Tyler Toffoli to boost the offensive production more.
This move is excellent news for Winnipeg defender Josh Morrissey, who is the most aggressive passer on the team. In the 16 games past the NHL All-Star Break, Morrissey has accounted for a team-high 18 points based on his efficiency to pass the puck into great scoring positions for his teammates.
The Jets are taking on the Washington Capitals’ defense, which has lost efficiency throughout the season. Washington is currently ranked 17th in the league in goals allowed per game (3.06). This game should be a great opportunity for the Jets to get around the deteriorating defense of the Capitals and account for solid scoring opportunities. Morrissey will be at the front to help tear down the defense of Washington.
