Winning three of our five prop bets on Tuesday got us back on track and back to making a profit. That gives us some confidence heading into Wednesday. With two of our three wins yesterday coming via pitchers, we’ve got a pitching-heavy set of props for Wednesday, and it’s not just the usual suspects. Here is a look at our picks with odds from DraftKings Sportsbook, where new users are getting $200 in bonus bets just for making a $5 bet.

Flaherty has had his share of ups and downs early in the season. But he’s excelled at striking out batters thus far. He’s reached at least seven strikeouts in three of his four starts, giving him 30 over 24.1 innings. Flaherty has also pitched at least six full innings in all four of his starts. Going that deep into games gives pitchers more opportunities to rack up a high strikeout total. The Rays also rank among the top 10 teams in baseball in striking out, averaging nearly nine per game. That gives us confidence that he’ll reach seven punch-outs against Tampa.
Rosario is one Tampa hitter that Flaherty will have to watch closely. In just six career at-bats against Flaherty, Rosario has a pair of doubles. He’s also become one of the hottest hitters in baseball despite going hitless on Tuesday. Prior to that, Rosario had three multi-hit games in a row. He’s currently batting .346 and has a healthy amount of extra-base hits on the season. Since he has a good track record against Flaherty, we think he’s a good bet to collect multiple bases on Wednesday, especially with plus odds.

It was rather surprising to see the odds this good to fade Boyle on Wednesday. The youngster has a 7.23 ERA and just gave up seven runs in six innings in his last start. In fairness, Boyle has had two impressive starts this year, allowing one run or less over five innings against both the Nationals and Tigers. But the Yankees have too many big bats to make us think that Boyle can traverse their lineup two or three times without major damage. We expect Boyle to have one of his bad days Wednesday in the Bronx.
With Boyle on the mound, we expect the Yankees to win, which will benefit Schmidt. While he has just one win in four starts, Schmidt has an impressive 3.15 ERA. Plus, the Yankees have won all four of the games he’s started. The narrative we’re creating is that the Yankees will score early runs against Boyle and cruise to a win, allowing Schmidt to record the win as long as he lasts five innings. The way we think about it, this scenario isn’t that far-fetched given the odds.

Frankly, any bet involving Lopez on Wednesday figures to be a good one. He’s arguably been the most dominant pitcher in baseball through three starts. Over 18 innings, he’s allowed just one run on 11 hits while striking out 18. We chose to go with under 4.5 hits because Lopez has allowed four hits or less in each of his three starts. He’s also facing a Miami lineup that’s been shut out in back-to-back games. Atlanta starter Max Fried allowed just three hits over nine innings on Tuesday. That gives us confidence that Lopez can duplicate that success against the struggling Marlins.
