Best NRFI Bets Today 04 08 2024

This Monday is the start of several new series in the 2024 MLB season, including some that are cross-conference. Many games possess great sports betting potential. Among the best bets to make tonight involve the under of one run in the first inning.

One game between the Seattle Mariners and the Toronto Blue Jays should be an easy first game based on the early season production of the two teams, especially in the first inning. The second game to focus on is the game between the Washington Nationals and the San Francisco Giants, where the 2023 NL Cy Young award winning pitcher Blake Snell will make his regular-season debut.

Best NRFI Bets Today: Seattle Mariners vs. Toronto Blue Jays (7:07 PM EST)

Under 0.5 Runs (-120) at DraftKings Sportsbook

This Monday night starts a new series between the Seattle Mariners going on the road to take on the Toronto Blue Jays. Both the Mariners and the Blue Jays are starting the season on a rough note and could use a series win to get back into a groove.

One of the key reasons why Seattle and Toronto are on a rough note is their poor start to games offensively. The Mariners and the Blue Jays are ranked 24th in the league and runs accounted for in the first inning (0.20).

Mariners star pitcher Luis Castillo has had a horrible start to the 2024 season through two games played with an ERA of 6.75. Castillo hasn’t allowed a run through the first two innings of the two starts. He allowed four runs in innings three through five in the 6-4 loss to Boston. In the 5-2 loss to Cleveland, he didn’t allow a run in the first three innings but then allowed four runs in innings four and five.

The Blue Jays are starting Jose Berrios for the third time this season, like Castillo for the Mariners, but has been more productive this season. Berrios has accounted for an ERA of 2.25 and only allowed a run in the first inning once in Toronto’s 8-2 road win on March 28.

Berrios can easily continue his great pitching performance in this new series against the Mariners. Castillo has been great through the first two or three innings before disaster strikes Seattle. This game should be a solid selection of no runs in the first inning.

Best NRFI Bets Today: Washington Nationals vs. San Francisco Giants (9:45 PM EST)

Under 0.5 Runs (-120) at DraftKings Sportsbook

There is only one team in MLB who has not accounted for a run in the first inning. That team is the Washington Nationals, who are still surprisingly holding their own through this early portion fon the season. This Monday, the Nationals will go on the road to take on the San Francisco Giants in a new three-game series.

While the nationals are ranked last in runs counter for in the first inning, the Giants are in the middle of the league in that same category averaging 0.4 runs in the first inning. Despite winning their most recent series over the San Diego Padres at home, the Giants accounted for a run in the first inning in only one game.

The nationals will be starting Trevor Williams at the mound against the Giants on Monday. Williams has allowed only three hits, two walks, and two runs while delivering five strikeouts in 5.1 innings started in the 5-3 win over the Pittsburgh Pirates on April 3. Through this early start of the season, Williams has been among the most efficient starting pitchers for the Nationals.

The Giants and Giants fans should be hyped for the regular season debut of the 2023 NL CY Young award winner in picture Blake Snell. Last season for the San Diego Padres, Snell accounted for an ERA of 2.25, the lowest in his career since his 2018 season with the Tampa Bay Rays, when he won the CY Young Award that season.

Look for Snell and Williams to make early statements in this game.
