We can’t rightly expect the Miami Heat’s roaring offensive output to continue for another match against the Brooklyn Nets. Meanwhile, the Nets need to merely adjust their defensive scheme in order to come away with another win.

The odds are always going to be against the Heat if they can’t put together a defensive performance with more resistance.
In their last match against the Brooklyn Nets, the Heat were far from last year’s stalwart defense. They allowed the Nets to shoot 53.7% from the field as well as 51.4% from three-point range. To say the Heat failed defensively would be an understatement.
It’s difficult to blame the Heat who are missing six players from their lineup, but the Nets won’t pity them. Establishing a presence at the rim while also limiting the Nets from three will be their only way of competing in this match.
Despite the sheer star power on the Brooklyn Nets, they’ve struggled to find consistency since coming together. In their last win over the Brooklyn Nets, they saw some promise in a rounded effort from their team.
While the combination of Harden, Durant, and Irving combined for 71 points, the Nets supporting cast contributed 57 of their total 128.
Brooklyn are usually the favorite against most opponents, but their lack of consistency has made many big winners on the underdog. If Brooklyn continues their team-oriented approach, they can build off of their recent success.
The list of things Bam Adebayo “can’t do” is running out.pic.twitter.com/GXo35xVQN2

If there’s been one bright spot in the Heat’s disappointing early-season, it has been the performances of All-Star center Bam Adebayo. While the Heat continues to struggle, Adebayo is growing into a true superstar.
Adebayo is the only reason the Heat were competitive in their last match. He scored 41 points and contributed nine assists, five rebounds, and one steal.
Adebayo is one of the few Heat players that causes issues for the Nets on both ends of the court. If he can maintain his efficiency, and get some support from his teammates defensively, he might be able to lead them to victory.

— James Harden (@JHarden13) January 19, 2021
James Harden has taken a step back since joining the Brooklyn Nets but has been as brilliant as usual with lower usage. He’s averaging 23.5 points and 12.0 assists through his first five games in Brooklyn.
Harden struggled in his last outing against the Heat. He was just two of eight from the field and scored only 12 points while failing to his a three-point field goal.
While Harden’s scoring is his number one talent, he at least finds a way to contribute in other ways. He did have 11 assists on the game, despite his six turnovers. If Harden can find some scoring efficiency, and the Nets maintain their offensive threat, it’ll be a victory for Brooklyn.
