Week eight of the 2023 NFL Season is set for two teams looking to regain some positive momentum going into the halfway point of the season. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (3-3) are set to go on the road to take on the Buffalo Bills (4-3). The Buccaneers are 8-4 over the Bills going back to 1976.
Tampa Bay started the season 3-1 with the last win coming 26-9 at New Orleans Saints. They've since lost two consecutive games since the bye-week after the Saints' game. Buffalo started the season with a loss at the New York Jets followed by three consecutive wins, including a 48-20 dominating home win over the Miami Dolphins. They have since lost two of their last three games, including a devastating 29-25 loss at the New England Patriots.

Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |

Quarterback Josh Allen has become the heart and soul of the Bills' offense. The Bills will attempt to throw the ball two out of three times as they will utilize the arm talent of Allen and the availability of a loaded receiver corp. Buffalo is ranked third in points per game (28.3), sixth in passing yards per game (256.9), and fifth in rushing yards per game (369.7). The Bills are surprisingly efficient in running the ball as they rank 14th in the league in rushing yards per game (112.9).
While this might not be the same defense that helped Tampa Bay win Super Bowl LV a few seasons ago, the Buccaneers are still efficient enough in all position groups to make big plays. The Buccaneers are ranked sixth in points allowed per game (17.3) and 10th in rushing yards allowed per game (95.8). They are seeing a lot of contributions from safety Antoine Winfield Jr. to be an impact star player throughout the field.
After the departure of quarterback Tom Brady, the Buccaneers' offense was met with limited options until they brought in Baker Mayfield to lead the offense. It is unclear if Mayfield would be a temporary option or a bridge quarterback, but he is exceeding expectations with the Buccaneers. Mayfield is keeping the limited offense of Tampa Bay as the team is hoping for more production from their receiving corp.
The Bills' defense has gone through some significant injuries throughout their seven games played. Buffalo is still ranked fifth in the league in points allowed per game (16.9) and 10th in passing yards allowed per game (201.3). They are seeing big results of their defensive line and blitzing linebackers get to the quarterback with a deep set of pass rushers.

With the offense of the Buccaneers so limited, they will be trying to get their passing game going to match the same productivity of the Bills. Mike Evans has been quiet this season despite averaging five receptions per game. He has caught four or more receptions in four of the six games played.
The Buccaneers have given up only nine touchdowns this season with six of them coming from the passing game. Buffalo is the most explosive offense that Tampa Bay's defense has faced all season. Josh Allen should, at least, have two passing touchdowns in the game.
Leonard Floyd has been an active pass rusher for the Bills since the start of the season. He has accounted for 6.5 sacks in six games, with four games accounting for a sack.
