Our first MLB best bet for Tuesday night comes in Miami, where the Miami Marlins will host the San Diego Padres in the first game of their series in South Florida. Here, we like the Marlins to win this game at home, thanks in large part to their starting pitching. With Sandy Alcantara on the mound for the Marlins, they should have the upper hand even against a potent offensive team like the Padres.
Alcantara has rebounded nicely from a rough start to this season, as he has made his way back into the top-10 in the NL Cy Young odds entering this week. His ERA is still high, as it is barely under 5.00, but he had a strong start in his last outing on the road against the Colorado Rockies. In a much easier place to pitch than Coors Field, things should go well for Alcantara here as well.
Meanwhile, the San Diego Padres have been on the road for a while on the East Coast of late, which should negatively impact them here. They have played road series against the Washington Nationals and New York Yankees going into this series. Expect the road-weary Padres to struggle here against one of the most talented pitchers in all of baseball after a brutal travel schedule.

Next on our list of MLB best bets for Tuesday is an NL East matchup between the Philadelphia Phillies and New York Mets. Here, we have the Mets getting a win at home to open this series against a Phillies team that is playing their second straight series on the road against a division opponent ahead of them in the standings. Philly just split a four-game series in Atlanta over the weekend, and that should benefit the Mets here.
The Phillies are at a huge disadvantage from a pitching perspective in this game, as they send Ranger Suarez to the mound on Tuesday night. Suarez is 0-1 on the season, but his ERA is a galling 9.82, albeit in a small sample size of 11 innings. He is going to have trouble against a Mets offense that can really punish pitchers with the heart of its order, especially with NL home run leader Pete Alonso.
Meanwhile, the Mets have a serviceable starter set to take the hill in this game in Kodai Senga. He is 4-3 on the season with an ERA of 3.94, and is averaging well over a strikeout per inning on the season thus far. Look for him to keep being rock solid against a Phillies team that is unlikely to move out of fourth place in the NL East after this series.

Finally, we like the Seattle Mariners to win and cover the run line against the New York Yankees at home on Tuesday night. Seattle is just two games above .500 on the year, while the Yankees have climbed back to 10 games above the .500 mark. But Seattle has a pitching edge in this game that is undeniable.
Logan Gilbert gets the start for the Mariners in this game, who was brilliant in his last outing against the Oakland A’s. While the Yankees are a much better offensive team than the Athletics, Gilbert should be able to continue to pitch at a high level at home here. With a sub-1.00 WHIP for the season, look for Gilbert not to put too many runners on and get hit with many crooked numbers by the Yankee lineup.
On the other side, Nestor Cortes was rolling in his last start against the Baltimore Orioles, until things went south on him in a hurry. He gave up four runs as a part of an eight-run inning for Baltimore that cost the Yankees his last start. He will need to be much better here for the Yankees to have any chance in the Pacific Northwest on Tuesday.
