This Wednesday night has another interesting slate of matchups in the MLB. Among some of the best bets to place through DraftKings is NRFI. There are plenty of matchups that will have the potential to be scoreless at the end of the first inning. Some of the most notable games to watch out for are in the AL Central.
The first game to watch out for will be a surprising matchup with the Los Angeles Dodgers going on the road for the final game against the Minnesota Twins. Ordinarily, the Dodgers and Twins would be among the better teams in the League last year and run in the first inning, but not this year.
Another game to watch out for is in the same ending in the AL Central between divisional rivals Cleveland Guardians and the Chicago White Sox.

Kicking off a busy day this Wednesday in the MLB is the conclusion of the three-game series of the Minnesota Twins (3-6) hosting the Los Angeles Dodgers (10-4). The Twins are in danger of losing their sixth consecutive game and their second series being swept on Wednesday. The Dodgers have become the first team in the NL to account for 10 wins this season.
The Twins have kept the high-scoring Dodgers in check in this series for a total of 10 runs in the two games played. Los Angeles has only scored once in the first inning in any of the two games played.
For as explosive the Dodgers can be at bat, they are ranked tenth in the league in runs accounted for in the first inning (0.64). The Twins are one of the worst teams in the league in accounting for runs in the first inning (0.22).
The Dodgers are set to start Bobby Miller at pitcher this Wednesday. He hasn’t been efficient this season as he has wanted to as he has accounted for a season ERA of 5.87. Miller only allowed two hits and one walk in six innings of the Dodgers’ 6-3 home win over the St. Louis Cardinals on March 29. His next game was at the Chicago Cubs where he allowed five runs, all in the second inning.
The Twins are set to start Chris Paddack, who has accounted for a season ERA of 4.5 in one game played. He only allowed two runs in the 7-3 win at the Milwaukee Brewers with the first run coming in the second inning.
This should be a game where scoring might not occur until after the first inning.
Place your NRFI bets at DraftKings
One of the best NRFI bets of the night is set as the Chicago White Sox (2-9) finish their three-game series at the Cleveland Guardians (8-3). This has been a wild series already between AL Central rivals.
In the first game, the Guardians expectedly dominated the White Sox with a 4-0 victory. There wasn’t a single run scored by any team until Cleveland scored at the bottom of the third inning.
On Tuesday, things took an unexpected turn as the White Sox were able to account for their second win of the season with a 7-5 victory. It was a high-scoring affair early in the game as the White scored five runs in the first inning while the Guardians scored two runs.
This last game on Wednesday should be more likely to match game one’s production than the high-scoring matchup than in game two. A big indication of this factor is the pitching matchup to start the game.
The Guardians are starting Tanner Bibee at the mound on Wednesday, who is already having a good start to the 2024 MLB Season. Bibee hasn’t allowed a run in the first inning in his two starts this season against the Oakland Athletics and the Minnesota Twins. He has a current season ERA of 3.83 in two games played this season.
Erick Fedde has been the most efficient starting pitcher for the White Sox this season with a current season ERA of 2.79. He has allowed one in the first inning all season from the Kansas City Royals, who are ranked 11th in the league in runs accounted for in the first inning (0.60).
Look for the White Sox and the Guardians to continue their scoreless runs early in the game.
