One of the first games on the week seven Sunday slate is set for a matchup between NFC East Divisional foes. The Washington Commanders (3-3) will go on the road to take on the New York Giants (1-5).

The Commanders are making a legitimate case to be playoff contenders this season. Washington is coming off a much-needed 24-16 road win over the Atlanta Falcons this past week to shed a three-game consecutive winning streak.

The New York Giants are one of the most disappointing teams this season after a 1-5 start to the season. The Giants also played with one of the toughest schedules this season. Their five losses have come against teams that made the NFL Playoffs last season.

Commanders vs Giants Prediction

Washington Commanders vs. New York Giants Best Prop Bets

Pick #1 - Over 63.5 Rushing Yards from New York running back Saquon Barkley (-115)

The New York Giants have a set of inconsistent performances on the offensive side of the ball for many different reasons. Running back Saquon Barkley is the least of the Giants' problems.

In the three games played this season for the Giants, Barkley has rushed for 207 yards and a touchdown on 53 carries. He has averaged 69 rushing yards this season.

Last week, the Giants played their first game without quarterback Daniel Jones, who was out with a neck injury. New York went with Tyrod Taylor in the 14-9 loss at the Buffalo Bills on Sunday Night Football. Barkley took more bulk of the responsibility of the offense as he rushed for 93 yards on 24 carries.

The defense of the Commanders has been disappointing this season despite possessing many Pro Bowl players along the defensive line. The Commanders rank 23rd in the league in rushing yards allowed per game (129). This is a game in which Barkley can create a productive performance for the Giants.

Pick #2 - Over 1.5+ Passing Touchdowns from Washington quarterback Sam Howell (+144)

The New York Giants have also been a disaster on the defensive side for many different reasons. The Giants are at the bottom in the NFL in every single major defensive category as they are unable to stop the passing game and the running game. The Giants’ defense ranks 28th in the league in points allowed per game (27.8) and 27th in total yards allowed per game (364.5). New York does not fare better and stop in the passing game as they are ranked 16th in the league in passing yards allowed per game (217).

This is a game in which Commanders quarterback Sam Howell can make a serious statement that he deserves to be the franchise quarterback moving forward. Howell is 3-3 as a starter this season as he has completed 67.8% of his passes for 1500 yards, nine touchdowns, and six interceptions. These are games that he can make a statement in order to prove he can lead all that's coordinator Eric Bieniemy’s offense and remain the starter in future seasons. If he loses this game against the Giants, this will make his case much more difficult, so he will attempt to take advantage of his situation.

Pick #3 - Over 57.5 Receiving Yards from Washington wide Terry McLaurin (-115)

Terry McLaurin made a big statement this past season for the Washington Commanders as he was named to his first Pro Bowl last season. This season, he has had struggles trying to create a high-profile game due to the tough secondaries faced. He has been locked down by many opposing defenses as he was the main provided of the offense.

His best game was in the 34-31 overtime loss to the Philadelphia Eagles a few weeks ago where he caught 8 receptions for 86 yards. This past week, McLaurin caught six receptions for 81 yards in the win over the Atlanta Falcons. With the Giants’ defense being so inconsistent and unable to defend the passing game, McLaurin could have one of his better games since his Pro Bowl season last year.
