There are three weeks left in the 2023 NFL season, which means now is the time to make a final push for the playoffs or for the offseason adjustments. Six teams have already been eliminated from the postseason with three coming from the AFC and three coming from the NFC. Only four teams have clinched a spot in the playoffs, which means there is still plenty more of action left. This is going to be a great opportunity for NFL fans and bettors to make bets to potentially win some significant earnings through DraftKings.
The AFC was expected to have a huge set of playoff contenders as it would be a race to the finish for multiple teams in the conference. Among the teams that have been in serious consideration for not only the playoffs but for the Super Bowl are the Buffalo Bills and the Los Angeles Chargers. Things have not gone the way of either team, but mostly on the part of the Chargers. On Saturday night, the Bills will travel to face the Chargers to settle more playoff grounds. This will be the first game in NFL history where a quarter of football will be commercial-less as the fourth quarter will play continuously.
The Bills started this season by losing a winnable game on the road to the AFC East rival in the New York Jets 22-16. Buffalo would win three consecutive games, but would then see inconsistent play as they would win one game but lose another quickly by winning three of the next eight games. The Bills came off the bye week with a strong mentality as they would defeat the Kansas City Chiefs on the road with a 20-17 score and last week dominated the Dallas Cowboys at home 31-10. The Bills went from being potentially out of the postseason to potentially winning in the AFC East if they win out.
The Los Angeles Chargers possessed many attributes to potentially compete for their first Super Bowl title this year. They had a great offense led by an elite quarterback and Justin Herbert, a tough and talented defense, and a potential winnable schedule. What they didn't have was a good head coach as Brandon Staley continued to ruin the chemistry and the potential of the team. The Chargers fluctuated at the beginning of the season by losing two games and winning two games through the eight games of the season. After getting the team to a 4-4 overall record, the Chargers would lose three consecutive games but rebounded with a terrible 6-0 road win over the New England Patriots. This was the game they lost Herbert for the season.
In week 14, the Chargers would suffer their worst loss of the season (up until that point) by losing to the Denver Broncos at home with a 24-7 score. This past Thursday Night Football, the Chargers would get blown out on the road by the Las Vegas Raiders with a 63-21 score. That was the straw that broke the camel's back as the Chargers fired head coach Brandon Staley, which shot many NFL media since the Chargers claimed they would never fire a coach in the season. The season, however, has shown that Staley lost control of the team long ago and now the Chargers are on the brink of elimination for the postseason unless they squeak out wins and get a lot of help in the process.

Much like he has always been in his NFL career, Buffalo Bills quarterback Josh Allen is a high-volume passer who can air it out deep. This makes him a reliable quarterback in deep passing game situations, but there it comes with some potential negative traits such as turnovers. Through the 1st 14 games of the season, Allen has thrown 14 interceptions, second most in the league.
Throwing interceptions in key moments of this game, especially in the red zone has been a serious problem for the Bills offense. Even when Allen plays great, he's going to find ways to throw interceptions. He has thrown at least one turnover in 11 of the 14 games played this season.
Allen did not throw an interception in last week's dominating win over the Dallas Cowboys as the Bills primarily ran the ball. While Allen expects to get more passing attempts against the Chargers’ defense that ranks 30th in the league in passing yards per game (261.4). Allen may turn the ball over at least once because that comes with his playstyle in his deep passes.

Before the dominating win against the Dallas Cowboys, Buffalo Bills running back James Cook was quietly having a tremendous season. To take more pressure off quarterback Josh Allen, the Bills were more determined to run the ball this season with Cook as the main back.
As a result, cook has rushed for 968 yards (third-most in the league)) and two touchdowns on 188 carries. Cook has rushed for at least 100 yards in three games this season.
By far, his best performance of the season was last week rushing for 179 yards and one touchdown on 25 carries against a solid Cowboys defense. The Bills could be looking to continue this trend for Cook as he would become the third player this season to rush for 1000 yards. Most importantly, the Bills want to make sure they limit the turnovers as much as possible to keep the Chargers from finding life.

The Chargers come into this game with even more concern in the passing game as star receiver Keenan Allen is going to be out. Los Angeles will look to several different players and the receiver core 2 pick up the slack, but they all need serious impact from rookie wide receiver Quinton Johnston, a player that drafted to be considered a future star receiver.
Despite playing all 14 games this season, Johnston has been incredibly inconsistent as he has caught 31 receptions out of 51 targets for 356 yards and two touchdowns. He has only had four games this season where he has accounted 4 30 yards or more.
The most impact accounted for in the game was in the 24-7 loss to the Denver Broncos when he caught three receptions for 91 yards. Johnston has been getting better throughout the season, but his productivity has been incredibly inconsistent with other receivers that have been selected in the first round of the NFL draft. The Chargers will need for him to step up as the #1 receiver he was drafted to be to have a chance of defeating the Bills.
