Broncos vs. Chiefs Picks, Predictions & Odds TNF Week 6

There have been some entertaining Thursday Night Football games this season. Last week's Thursday Night Football matchup between the Chicago Bears and the Washington Commanders has been surprisingly rewarding.

Barring any shocking events, this week's matchup should be far from competitive. The Denver Broncos (1-4), who are arguably the worst team in the league, go on the road to take on the reigning Super Bowl champions in the Kansas City Chiefs (4-1).

The Broncos have been an absolute embarrassment in the NFL, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Their only win was a 31-28 win at a winless Chicago Bears, at the time, in week four.

While the Chiefs haven't been dominant this season, they have found different ways to win big games. They still have the most dangerous and efficient quarterback in the league in Patrick Mahomes II.

Broncos vs Chiefs Predictions

Denver Broncos vs. Kansas City Chiefs Betting Preview

The Kansas City Chiefs offense has seen its limits of productivity as the lack of a definitive #1 wide receiver is keeping the offense from reaching its full potential. Tight end Travis Kelce is an excellent mid-range target for quarterback Patrick Mahomes. Despite the lack of an explosive weapon, the Chiefs rank ninth in the league in points per game (25.6) and seventh in passing yards per game (258).

The Broncos were given the title of the worst defense in the league after giving up 70 points to the Miami Dolphins. Denver ranks 32nd (last) in the league in points allowed per game (36.2), total yards allowed per game (450.6), and rushing yards allowed per game (187.6). They are just as bad in defending against the passing game as they rank 29th in the passing yards allowed game (263).

The Broncos' offense is significantly better than last season's disastrous run. Denver's offense has seen more productivity from quarterback Russell Wilson, but his skill position players are getting injured.

Defensively, the Chiefs are one of the most complete units in the league. Kansas City ranks fifth in the league in points allowed per game (16) as they are efficient in stopping drives. Defensive tackle Chris Jones has been playing at an elite level in four games played.

Broncos vs. Chiefs Picks & Predictions

Pick #1 - Over 2.5 Passing Touchdowns from Kansas City quarterback Patrick Mahomes (+135)

The Broncos' defense is ill-equipped to stop an opposing offense through the passing or rushing game. Mahomes should have one of his best games of the season against this terrible Broncos defense.

Pick #2 - Over 0.75 Sacks from Kansas City defensive tackle Chris Jones (-180)

Through four games of the season, Chiefs star defensive lineman Chris Jones has accounted for 4.5 sacks. The offensive line is the weakest unit of the Broncos' offense. Like Mahomes, Jones should have one of his best performances of the season against the Broncos.

Pick #3 - Denver Broncos Team Total Points 11-20 (+130)

This is not the same pathetic offense that the Broncos had with Russell Wilson and Nathaniel Hackett. There is progress with Wilson and Sean Payton, but there is a clear lack of consistency and communication. It is bad to have against this highly efficient and talented Chiefs defense.
