Newcastle United vs. Barcelona

Barcelona to Win (+130) at BetRivers

With Newcastle United languishing in the bottom half of the Premier League, they will not be taking part in next season’s edition of the Champions League unless they somehow manage to win this year’s tournament. Given the way they have been playing of late, it is difficult to see that happening.

Barcelona have already won at St James’ Park this season, triumphing in the league phase, and we anticipate the same outcome here. Barca have the attacking quality to cause problems for a Newcastle backline which has struggled against less talented frontlines in recent weeks. Hansi Flick’s team can win in England.

Atletico Madrid vs. Tottenham Hotspur

Atletico Madrid -1 Handicap (+162) at BetRivers

Tottenham Hotspur have bigger fish to fry than the Champions League at the moment. In relegation trouble in the Premier League, Spurs’s principal focus for the remainder of the campaign is to ensure they are not demoted to the Championship. Anything that happens in Europe is a bonus.

That gives Atletico Madrid a huge advantage in this last-16 tie. Diego Simeone’s side have their flaws, but they are a better team than this version of Tottenham. With home advantage behind them for the first leg, Atletico should come out on top - perhaps by a two-goal margin at a minimum.

Atalanta vs Bayern Munich

Harry Kane to Score Any Time (-120) at BetRivers

Bayern Munich are on the verge of winning the Bundesliga title, so they will soon turn their attention to the Champions League. Despite their dominance back home for much of 2025/26, this campaign will still be seen as a slight disappointment if Bayern fall short in Europe. Anything less than a semi-final berth would probably be considered a failure.

Atalanta beat Borussia Dortmund in the knockout phase play-offs and it would be a mistake for Bayern to underestimate them. But with the superb Harry Kane leading the line for the Bavarians, they will probably have too much firepower for their Italian opponents. Kane can make the net bulge in the first leg of this last 16 tie.

PSG vs. Chelsea

Both Teams to Score (-175) at BetRivers

Paris Saint-Germain have not had everything their own way in the Champions League this season. After missing out on a top-eight finish in the league phase, PSG were made to work hard by Monaco in the knockout phase play-offs. Next up is a two-legged clash with Chelsea, the team that blew them away in the final of the Club World Cup last summer.

Plenty has changed at Stamford Bridge since then, not least the manager. But while Chelsea are an imperfect team, they continue to pose a threat going forward. The Blues rarely draw a blank in any competition and they will fancy their chances of finding the back of the net at the Parc des Princes.

Real Madrid vs Manchester City

Real Madrid to Win (+175) at BetRivers

Real Madrid and Manchester City have gotten used to the sight of one another over the last few years, and the pair will once again face off in the Champions League this term. Manchester City are not only favorites to advance over two legs; they are also in pole position to win the first match according to the best online sportsbooks.

That makes a Madrid win at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu extremely good value. The Blancos tend to come alive in this competition, while City are not quite as dominant as they once were. This feels like a match which could easily go either way, but at the odds on offer Madrid are the best moneyline bet.

Bayer Leverkusen vs Arsenal

Bayer Leverkusen Under 0.5 Goals (+120) at BetRivers

Arsenal finished top of the league phase and the draw for the knockout stage has been kind. Because of the way the bracket works out, Mikel Arteta’s men cannot face any of Liverpool, Paris Saint-Germain, Bayern Munich, Real Madrid or Manchester City until the final. Arsenal are the favorites to lift the trophy this term.

It is hard to see Bayer Leverkusen getting the better of Arsenal over 180 minutes of soccer in Germany and England. The Gunners have a 100 percent record in the Champions League in 2025/26, in large part because they are so difficult to score against. A clean sheet beckons for the visitors to Leverkusen.
