Back Real Madrid to beat PSG on Wednesday. This is one could go either way, but it is worth a punt on Madrid at these odds.

What a year this has been for Paris Saint-Germain so far. Luis Enrique’s side won the treble in 2024/25, including their first ever Champions League success. They blew Inter away in the final, winning 5-0 in one of the most dominant performances of all time in a European showpiece. PSG were very clearly the best team on the continent last term - and now they are aiming to become champions of the world.
There was one slip-up in the group stage, as PSG went down to a 1-0 defeat by Botafogo, but otherwise they have been perfect in the USA. A 4-0 demolition of Inter Miami in the round of 16 was followed by a 2-0 defeat of Bayern Munich in the quarters, confirming PSG as the favorites to lift the trophy.
There are doubts over the fitness of Achraf Hakimi and Fabian Ruiz, however, while Willian Pacho and Lucas Hernandez are suspended following red cards against Bayern.
Real Madrid fell short on multiple fronts last season. They finished second to Barcelona in La Liga and exited the Copa del Rey at the hands of their arch-rivals too. Most frustratingly for a club which has always placed Europe at the top of its list of priorities, Madrid did not make it past the last eight of the Champions League.
After missing out on major silverware in 2024/25, Madrid are desperate to make amends this summer. Their motivation has only increased since they were paired with PSG, the reigning European champions, in the semis.
Madrid will have to make do without Dean Huijsen, who was given his marching orders in the 3-2 victory over Borussia Dortmund at the weekend. However, Kylian Mbappe may be ready to make his first start of the tournament against his former club.
PSG have been superior to Real Madrid over the last few months. That is obvious to anyone with even a passing interest in European soccer. At kick-off on Wednesday, though, the past counts for nothing.
PSG will not be at full strength in the semis and their tremendous run of form cannot go on forever. Madrid have grown into the tournament and they are about to welcome their best player back into the fold.
The odds of a Madrid success in East Rutherford are too attractive to overlook.
