I’m going to the bottom of the board and rolling with rookie guard Richardson to win the Slam Dunk Contest. He might’ve scored less than 200 points in his NBA career, but he’s an electrifying player who thrives under pressure and when in the spotlight—check his college career for proof.
NBA All-Star Slam Dunk Pick: Jase Richardson (+350) at FanDuel Sportsbook
At 6-foot-1, Richardson can flat-out fly. Smaller players have found plenty of success in the event in recent years, and Richardson’s vertical leap, combined with his flashiness, makes him an exciting pick. He’s also the son of one of the best dunkers ever and two-time Slam Dunk Contest winner Jason Richardson.

The AT&T Slam Dunk Contest will be held at 5:00 p.m. ET on Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, CA.
The participants include Carter Bryant (San Antonio Spurs), Jaxson Hayes (Los Angeles Lakers), Keshad Johnson (Miami Heat), and Jase Richardson (Orlando Magic). Three of the four are rookies, with seven-year veteran Hayes being the exception.
The NBA also has a loaded panel of guest judges. That includes three-time Slam Dunk champion Nate Robinson, two-time winner Dominique Wilkins, and champs Dwight Howard and Brent Barry.
The fifth judge is the NBA ID Member Rep and will be one of NBA shooting coach Chris “Lethal Shooter” Matthews, comedian Druski, or Dude Perfect co-founder Tyler Toney, depending on a fan vote.
Four players compete in a two-round format. Each dunk is scored by judges and fans.
Participants are allowed a maximum of 90 seconds and three attempts per dunk. The top two scorers from the first round advance to the finals, where they will go head-to-head with their opponent for the title.
