NBA Player Props and Best Bets: Towns Over, Brunson Under and a Playoff Parlay

The Indiana Pacers will look to defend their 2-1 lead in the Eastern Conference Finals when they host the New York Knicks for Game 4 on Tuesday, and I have the best player prop bets for the matchup.

The Knicks took their first pound of flesh in the series on Sunday, recovering from a 20-point deficit to win 106-100. Karl-Anthony Towns exploded in the fourth quarter to help drag his team back, meaning that the road team has won every game in the series.

The Pacers still only have three losses in the entire playoffs, all of them coming in Game 3 of their respective series. Every game in the series was decided by six or fewer points, setting up a dramatic Tuesday night date.

Enough chatter, here are my top five player props and a same-game parlay for the Knicks vs. Pacers Game 4 showdown.

Best NBA Prop Bets Today May 27

Best NBA Prop Bets for Tuesday, May 27

Karl-Anthony Towns Over 21.5 Points

The Big Bodega poured in 24 points and had a terrific fourth quarter the last time he was on the court, and he went over in two of three games while averaging 26.3 points on 52.1 percent shooting in the series. That’s after he averaged 30.3 points on highly efficient shooting in his regular-season matchups with the Pacers.

Indy doesn’t have the necessary size to slow down Towns once he gets a head of steam, and he averaged three made threes per game on 45 percent shooting. Jalen Brunson has not been efficient, and Towns has been the man to find his offense more times than not.

Josh Hart Under 8.5 Points

Hart, who moved to the bench for Mitchell Robinson in Game 3, is yet to score more than eight points in the series. That’s despite him shooting 50 percent from the field as he only attempted four field goals per game, a dramatic shift since he averaged 10.5 per game in the previous round.

The Pacers have done a nice job of getting back in transition to prevent Hart from driving to the rim as he loves to do, and they’ve also been able to rotate off of him without being punished because of his poor distance shooting. His move to the bench further signals that he should not be much of a scoring threat in Game 4.

Myles Turner Under 1.5 Threes

Turner had a great regular season and start to the playoffs shooting the ball, but he only made one three per game on 21.4 percent shooting in the series. He’s yet to make more than one three in a single game in the series and hasn’t been able to take advantage of the defensive limitations of Towns.

It wouldn’t be a shock to see Turner, a capable pick-and-pop shooter, go over, but he hasn’t proven himself in this series and is still getting positive odds on the under. The Knicks should also be in a better position to defend him with Robinson now in the starting lineup.

Obi Toppin Over 3.5 Rebounds

Let’s start with the negatives: Toppin only played 14 minutes in Game 3 and 17.7 minutes per game, and he’s seen his minutes decrease in every series matchup. That said, he went over in two of three games, including four rebounds in just 14 minutes in his last appearance.

The Knicks are a terrific rebounding team, and the high-flying Toppin has to put effort into getting on the glass to ensure that he can remain on the court. Aaron Nesmith is dinged and could miss Game 4 depending on the status of his ankle, minutes that could be filled in part by Toppin.

Jalen Brunson Under 6.5 Assists

Brunson went under in two of three games in the series and only had one assist in Game 3. His shooting efficiency dropped significantly in every game, and he could not find ways to create for his team his last time on the floor.

The Pacers have great perimeter defenders they can throw at Brunson, and he’s often appeared disinterested in sharing the rock with his teammates. Even if Nesmith is out, that should only incentivize him to take more shots and to largely continue to ignore his teammates as we’ve seen throughout the series.

NBA Same-Game Parlay (+200) at FanDuel

-New York Knicks at Indiana Pacers (-2)

  • Tyrese Haliburton 8+ assists: Went over this line in two of three games, and the Knicks allowed the highest field goal percentage of any team in the conference finals.

  • Karl-Anthony Towns 10+ rebounds: Went over in two of three games and just had 15 boards in Game 3, and the Pacers are still struggling to deal with the Knicks’ size.

  • OG Anunoby 2+ threes: He made at least two threes in every game in the series and in four straight games overall, and he made four of six three-point attempts in his last game.
