NBA Player Props and Best Bets: Luka Doncic, Ja Morant & More Picks for Saturday, Nov. 15

The weekend is only just beginning, and I’ve picked my top five Saturday NBA player prop picks and bets to celebrate.

Among many stellar showings on Friday night, Steph Curry (49 points) and Victor Wembanyama (26 points, 12 rebounds) stole the show in Golden State’s one-point win. Karl-Anthony Towns also dropped 39 points and 11 rebounds to lift the New York Knicks past the Miami Heat in a high-scoring showdown, 140-132.

The five-game Saturday slate is headlined by a rematch of the NBA playoffs a couple of years ago as the Minnesota Timberwolves take on the Denver Nuggets. The Los Angeles Lakers will also pay a visit to the Milwaukee Bucks to close out the evening.

Ja Morant over 7.5 assists (-122) at FanDuel sportsbook

At a certain point, you have to believe people when they tell you who they are. Morant is not only frustrated with his situation in Memphis, he averaged 18.9 points per game on a deplorable 35.2 percent shooting from the field, including 28.7 percent shooting in November.

While Morant’s inability to put the ball in the hole has plagued him and his team, he’s remained a consistent facilitator. He went over this line in five straight games and is about to face a Cleveland Cavaliers team that ranks 25th in assists allowed per game, setting him up for a strong night in that market.

Jakob Poeltl over 11.5 points (-110) at FanDuel sportsbook

Poeltl has quietly been a very proficient rebounder for several years. That’s significant against an undersized Indiana Pacers team, as it should create an ever-present opportunity for Poeltl to collect offensive rebounds, leading to easy second-chance points.

Even without the offensive boards, Poeltl went over this line in three straight games and put up 20 points against the Cavs in his last outing. The Pacers are 24th in points in the paint allowed per game and 27th in points allowed per game overall, giving Toronto’s big man a platform to cash the over.

Miles Bridges over 2.5 threes (-136) at FanDuel sportsbook

I picked Rui Hachimura to cash the over on his three-point line against the Oklahoma City Thunder earlier this week, and it worked out. Now, I’m doubling back to take Bridges, who went over this line in six of his last eight games, and who just went 6-15 from downtown last night against the Milwaukee Bucks.

The Thunder have a strong defensive reputation, as they should, yet they’re only 22nd in three-point makes allowed per game and three-point percentage allowed. The Hornets players would be wise to stay on the perimeter to avoid the teeth of the OKC defense, which feeds into Bridges going over this line.

Luka Doncic over 3.5 threes (+100) at FanDuel sportsbook

Let’s be honest, Doncic has been a relatively terrible three-point shooter this season. The Slovenian sensation only made 3.4 threes per game on 31.3 percent shooting from downtown, and he went under this line in consecutive games.

As troubling as those numbers are, the optimist would point out that Doncic is still taking 11 threes per night. As a career 34.9 percent three-point shooter, that should put him in a position to deliver the over, even against the stiff perimeter defense of the Bucks. Doncic also went over this line in five of nine games this season.

Julius Randle under 22.5 points (-122) at FanDuel sportsbook

Good luck to the rest of the NBA. The Denver Nuggets not only have an offense led by Nikola Jokic and Jamal Murray, but they are also second in defensive rating thanks to players such as Christian Braun, Aaron Gordon, and Cameron Johnson, who offer size, strength, and versatility.

With Denver’s newfound ability on the defensive end, Randle figures to have to spend most of his time operating on the perimeter. The Nuggets held their opponents to the third-fewest points per game in the NBA, and although Randle scored 24 points when these teams played on October 27, I believe he will struggle.
