NBA Player Props and Best Bets: Cade Cunningham, Alperen Sengun & More Picks for Monday, Dec. 15

There are only 10 more days until Christmas, but these NBA player props are gifts by themselves.

Stephen Curry turned back the block yesterday, dropping 48 points, albeit in a loss, to the Portland Trail Blazers. Meanwhile, Dyson Daniels put up 27 points and 10 rebounds in a win over the Philadelphia 76ers.

There are five games today, headlined by the Boston Celtics hosting the Detroit Pistons, and later in the day, the Houston Rockets paying a visit to the Denver Nuggets.

Cade Cunningham Under 8.5 Assists (+100) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Cunningham is having a phenomenal season, averaging 26.9 points, 9.1 assists, and 6.1 rebounds for the East-leading Pistons. That said, he went under this line in six of his last nine games and in both of his previous matchups with the Celtics, the most recent of which came on Nov. 26.

The Celtics play at a glacial pace and do not allow many possessions per game. They also rank fourth in points and ninth in assists allowed per game over their last 15, all of which are indicative of there being a great chance that Cunninham goes under his line.

Kel’El Ware Over 7.5 Points (+102) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Ware has not had a good go of things lately, going under this line in four of his last five games while averaging 7.0 points per game in December. Even worse, he only played 12 minutes in his last outing and averaged 21.2 this month.

Even with those trends, Ware has proven his ability as a scorer. His only recent over saw him go for 22 points, and he scored 11+ points in five straight games to close November, part of him averaging 11.3 points per game for the year. The Toronto Raptors have a great defense, but they’re a tall and long team, and Ware is an obvious cog that could be used to counter their size.

Cooper Flagg Under 5.5 Rebounds (+118) at FanDuel Sportsbook

The Dallas Mavericks’ enormous lineup comes at a cost: a personal sacrifice of box score numbers, in this case, to Flagg. The young rookie went under this line in three straight games with Anthony Davis on the floor and only averaged 5.8 rebounds in 11 games with his superstar teammate.

The Utah Jazz are only 19th in rebounds allowed per game over their last 15 contests, but they were also ninth in rebound rate during that same stretch. With Davis, PJ Washington, and numerous others all available, it could be difficult for Flagg to track down enough boards to cash the over

Sengun was often called a baby Jokic during his formative years in the NBA. That holds true in many respects, but as far as rebounding, he only averaged 7.6 per game and went under this line in four of his last six matchups with Jokic—well off the Joker’s elite standard.

The Nuggets allowed the fourth-fewest rebounds per game across their last 15 outings. Sengun averaged 9.4 per game and had 15 in his last game, but he also had five boards in 36 minutes in his only matchup with the Nuggets earlier this year.

Ja Morant 8+ Assists (+124) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Morant only just returned from an injury to dish out 10 assists in 25 minutes against the Utah Jazz. He’s preparing to take on the Los Angeles Clippers, who ranked 11th in average assists allowed over their last 15 games.

Morant, embattled by controversy, averaged 7.8 assists per game and cashed the over in six of his last seven games. He’ll have the ball in his hands frequently, and the Clippers are 26th in defensive rating. I expect the Memphis Grizzlies’ PG to set up his teammates and deliver an over.
