It might only be the middle of December, but the NBA is giving its fans a taste of postseason flavor with the NBA Cup final between the San Antonio Spurs and New York Knicks.
The Spurs fought their way into the final by taking down the 24-1 Oklahoma City Thunder in Victor Wembanyama’s return to the court. On the other side, the Knicks cruised past the Orlando Magic, marking their ninth win in their last 10 games.
Last year’s NBA Cup final was a defensive slugfest between the Thunder and Milwaukee Bucks. There’s no shortage of superstar offensive talent ready to go tonight, but the question is, which players will stand the tallest under the brightest lights?
Here are my best NBA Cup final prop bets and picks for the Tuesday Spurs vs. Knicks extravaganza

Fox scored 22 points against the menacing Thunder defense in the semifinal and averaged 23.9 points per game. The Knicks have their share of talented defensive pieces, but Fox is quick enough to get past taller players, and has the athleticism to get past Brunson.
The lightning-fast guard went over this line in four of the five games he played with Victor Wembanyama by his side so far. The Knicks ranked sixth in points allowed per game over their last 15 contests, but Fox and the stars should get to play extra minutes because of the stakes of tonight’s game.

Looking back at Towns’ past matchups with Wemby, his three-point volume and efficiency were both slightly down. Across four matchups, the big man made 36.8 percent of his 4.8 attempts per game, both below his career averages of 39.9 percent and 5.3 attempts.
Towns went under this line the last two times he met Wemby, including the only one he played in a Knicks uniform, and only shot 36 percent from three this season, the worst since his rookie year. He went over in four of his last five, but also went under in three straight before that, and I think there’s enough value to warrant the risk.

The driving force of the Knicks’ offense, Brunson went over in four of his last seven games. He went under in two of three lifetime matchups with Wemby, but he never went below six assists, and in one of those games, he scored 61 points, meaning that passing was nothing more than an afterthought.
The Spurs have a bunch of tall guards and the ever-present threat of Wemby, meaning that driving and kicking the ball could become a primary source of offense for the Knicks. The Spurs, despite their strong defense, are also below league-average in assists allowed per game, all of which is why I’d back Brunson to go over.

Under normal circumstances, this would be insane. However, Wemby was only allowed to play 21 minutes in his return to action on Saturday—a game that he finished with nine rebounds—, and he could easily be on a minutes restriction tonight.
The Knicks rank seventh in rebounds allowed per game over their last 15 and are fifth in rebound rate for the season as a whole. Towns, Mitchell Robinson, Josh Hart, and several others will make it difficult for Wemby to monopolize the glass as he often does, giving him a strong chance to cash the under.

An unsung hero of the Spurs’ excellent season so far, Champagnie made 2.3 threes per game on 37.5 percent shooting. He also played 28.7 minutes per game, including 27 against the Thunder and 30.3 per game in December.
The Knicks do a nice job of rendering their opponents inefficient from the three-point line, yet they ranked 19th in made threes allowed over the last few weeks. With Fox, Wemby, Stephon Castle, and others on the court, Champagnie has a chance to slip through the cracks and end up with enough open shots to beat this line.
