Hump Day is here, and I have my picks for the best NBA player props on Wednesday ready to go.
LeBron James, at the exuberant age of 41, dropped 30 points, eight rebounds, and eight assists in the Los Angeles Lakers’ win over the New Orleans Pelicans, while Cam Spencer’s 21 points, eight boards, and eight dimes helped the Memphis Grizzlies take down the San Antonio Spurs.
All but six NBA teams are in action on Thursday. The slate is headlined by the Lakers visiting the Spurs, as well as the Boston Celtics hosting the Denver Nuggets sans Nikola Jokic.
Here are my selections for the top NBA player prop picks and bets for Wednesday, Jan. 7.

Vucevic averaged 16.4 points per game, and he went under this line in three of his last four games. He dropped 28 points on the Detroit Pistons on opening night, but in a better reflection of the two teams during their most recent matchup on Nov. 12, he only had six points on 30 percent shooting.
Vucevic has been very up-and-down as a three-point shooter, and I think he’ll need to rely on that variance to cash the over tonight. The Pistons allowed the third-fewest points in the paint per game over the last few weeks, but unfortunately for Vucevic, they also allowed the lowest three-point percentage in the league (33.2) during that same time.

I get it, I get it - Doncic wasn’t great on the boards recently. He went under this line in six of his last seven games and only had two boards in last night’s victory against the New Orleans Pelicans, dropping him to 7.9 rebounds per game on the year.
Doncic and the Lakers are preparing to take on the Spurs, who went pedal to the metal the last time these teams played, taking advantage of LA’s lack of speed and mobility. However, there seems to be a different pep in their step with LeBron James playing the way he has recently, and Victor Wembanyama’s minutes restriction means that he won’t be on the court clogging up the interior as much as he normally does.

The Golden State Warriors have a nice perimeter defense and ranked seventh in made threes allowed per game, as well as eighth in three-point percentage allowed, over the last few weeks of action. However, I see a path for Turner to overcome that.
The Dubs like to use Draymond Green as a roamer, leveraging his instincts in the area of the floor where the highest-percentage shots are taken and where the ball appears the most. That could create space for the perimeter-centric Turner, who went over this line in five of his last six and shot 37.6 percent on 5.9 threes per game.

Nurkic enjoyed a nice revival in his last couple of games, scoring 21 points on 75 percent and 26 points on 90.9 percent shooting. He also went over in seven of his last eight games, but he’s also 0-2 to the under against the Oklahoma City Thunder.
OKC is a massive 19-point favorite and could play the Utah Jazz’s vets off of the floor in favor of developing their youth. Nurkic should also struggle with the speed of OKC’s help defense, as well as the shot-blocking of their interior players.

To be completely fair, Black averaged 17.0 points in January and 18.9 points per game in December, marking a clear separation between his rookie-year performances and his new and improved game. However, there are still several warning signs.
Black shot 44.4 percent from the field last month and 45.2 percent to start the New Year, neither of which is very impressive. The Nets also allowed the fewest points per game over the last few weeks, which is not a positive sign for a player who has been inefficient.
