NBA Player Props and Best Bets: Giannis Antetokounmpo & More Picks for Sunday, Jan. 11

The first full week of the new year is coming to a close, and I’m back to share my favorite NBA player prop picks for Sunday.

The Charlotte Hornets didn’t need to play their starters in the second half last night as they annihilated the Utah Jazz, 150-95, while John Collins’ 25 points, seven rebounds, and four steals helped the Los Angeles Clippers come back to defeat the Detroit Pistons.

There’s a loaded slate on Sunday, including the Minnesota Timberwolves hosting the San Antonio Spurs, and the Philadelphia 76ers crossing the border to face the Toronto Raptors.

Here are my best NBA player prop picks and bets for Sunday, Jan. 11.

Desmond Bane under 1.5 threes (+104) at FanDuel Sportsbook

There’s something strange going on with Bane, who was traded to the Orlando Magic, in part, because his three-point prowess was supposed to help the team’s miserable spacing. Instead, he’s shooting the worst three-point percentage of his career on the fewest attempts per game since he only played 22.3 average minutes as a rookie.

The New Orleans Pelicans allowed the second-most made three-points per game over the last few weeks, so they don’t exactly have a lockdown defense. However, Bane went under in three straight and in seven of his last eight while attempting fewer than five threes per game during that stretch, so until he figures it out, I’ll take his under.

Scottie Barnes under 5.5 assists (-125) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Barnes averaged 5.2 assists per game and just followed up a 10-assist performance with no assists in his last game against the Charlotte Hornets. He also dropped exactly five dimes in both matchups with the 76ers, which occurred in November.

The Sixers are right around the middle of the league in assists allowed per game over their last 15 outings, so that doesn’t give a strong indication. This boils down to Barnes continuing to refuse to take over as “the guy” in the offense and my belief that the Philly defense can slow down the hosts.

Jaden McDaniels under 14.5 points (-114) at FanDuel Sportsook

McDaniels is a player who doesn’t shoot very efficiently from the outside and needs to get into the paint to find success as a scorer. That’s a problem, considering there’s a seven-foot-five Frenchman who will be in the way waiting for his arrival.

McDaniels only scored 12 points in last night’s high-scoring loss against the Cleveland Cavaliers, and he went under in five of his last seven games. The Spurs also ranked seventh in points allowed per game over the last few weeks of play.

Kel’El Ware under 10.5 points (-125) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Ware only faced the Oklahoma City Thunder one time in his NBA career, and it did not go well. He put up seven points and six rebounds in 24 minutes despite shooting 66.7 percent from the floor when the teams met on Feb. 12, 2025.

Ware averaged 12.3 points per game, but his usage has been totally erratic; one night he plays 35 minutes, and the next he might only get 17 (like he did in his last outing). He went under this line in three of five games to start the New Year, and the Thunder allowed the fewest points per game, so I feel obligated to bet his under.

Giannis Antetokounmpo over 10.5 rebounds (-112) at FanDuel Sportsbook

The Greek Freak only averaged 9.8 rebounds per game and went under this line in three of his last four games, but he’s getting a great matchup. The Denver Nuggets are not doing well without Nikola Jokic and have plummeted to 26th in rebounds allowed per game since he went out of the lineup with a knee injury.

At 17-21, the Milwaukee Bucks need to figure something out to get their playoff surge going. They took down the Los Angeles Lakers in dramatic fashion in their last outing, so hopefully Antetokounmpo will roll those positive feelings into this matchup.
