NBA Player Props and Best Bets: Victor Wembanyama, Kawhi Leonard & More Picks for Wednesday, Feb. 4

As the headlines pick up ahead of the Thursday trade deadline, I’m back with more of my best NBA player prop picks for Wednesday.

Cade Cunningham went for 29 points and 10 rebounds as the Detroit Pistons beat the Denver Nuggets, while Cooper Flagg became the first teenager to score 30+ points in three straight games by dropping 36 points, nine rebounds, and six assists in a loss against the Boston Celtics.

The Los Angeles Clippers will host the Cleveland Cavaliers tonight in an ironic twist following the Darius Garland for James Harden trade, while the San Antonio Spurs will welcome the Oklahoma City Thunder for a battle between two of the top teams in the NBA.

Here are my top NBA player prop picks and bets for Wednesday, Feb. 4.

Kawhi Leonard Over 26.5 Points (-118) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Kawhi scored a career-best 27.6 points per game on 50/39/91 shooting splits, putting him in the category of “lethally efficient.” He went under this line in four of his last six outings, but he’s also facing a Cavaliers team that ranked 19th in points allowed per game over the last few weeks.

With the Harden trade news hanging over the team’s head, I believe that the ever-steady Leonard will have a takeover game, just like he did on Monday, when he scored 29 points on 57.1 percent shooting. The Cavs like to play at a quick pace, which should help create more possessions and more scoring opportunities.

Victor Wembanyama Over 22.5 Points (-110) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Whether it’s because he’s facing the defending champs, the Western Conference leaders, or his arch-rival, Chet Holmgren, everyone knows that Wemby loves to get up for the Thunder games. His intensity and determination clearly ratchet up, and this will be his fifth and final time to see them until, potentially, the playoffs.

Wemby went under this line in all four prior matchups with the Thunder, who have an excellent defense. However, he went over this line in five of his last eight games and is playing more minutes per night, while the Thunder are vulnerable after going 16-10, well below their usual standard, since Dec. 13.

Alperen Sengun Under 22.5 Points (-136) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Sengun and the Houston Rockets are about to face the Boston Celtics, who could potentially be without Jaylen Brown. Whether or not the latter’s main man suits up, Boston has been terrific defensively, ranking second in points and points in the paint allowed per game.

Sengun just scored 39 points on 52 percent shooting against the Indiana Pacers, but there might not be a team more opposite than Indy in the NBA than Boston. Kevin Durant is also returning to the lineup, and Sengun had gone under in seven of eight games prior to his Monday explosion.

Peyton Watson Over 1.5 Threes (+116) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Watson only went 0-1 from three in last night’s loss against the Detroit Pistons, who are outstanding on the perimeter. He still finished with 17 points, but it was a sharp deviation from his recent performances, which included a 5-7 showing from three on Sunday and going over in five of six games.

Nikola Jokic is back, meaning that Watson will spend much less time with the ball in his hands. At the same time, the New York Knicks are going to need to help Karl-Anthony Towns on defense, which could leave space for Watson to make his shots after he made 2.4 threes per game on 46.2 percent shooting in January.

Collin Murray-Boyles Under 8.5 Points (-122) at FanDuel Sportsbook

The ninth pick in the last NBA Draft went over this line in six of his last eight games, despite only scoring four points in his last outing. However, he did not make a single three-pointer since Dec. 29, meaning that he prefers to do his damage on the interior.

With Rudy Gobert, Julius Randle, and Jaden McDaniels patrolling the interior, it is going to be tough for Murray-Boyles to find space to be effective. He’s also playing center out of necessity, which makes this an even worse matchup for the young rook.
