The NBA has been kind to me so far this week, and I have another edition of my top NBA player prop picks and bets for Thursday.

Kawhi Leonard continued his elite play with 45 points on 75 percent shooting in a 153-128 win for the Los Angeles Clippers over the Minnesota Timberwolves last night. Desmond Bane also went for 35 points, six rebounds, and six assists to lead the Orlando Magic over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Tonight’s schedule is headlined by a potential Western Conference Finals matchup between the Denver Nuggets and the San Antonio Spurs, as well as a potential NBA Finals preview, featuring the Boston Celtics and the Oklahoma City Thunder.

Here are my top NBA player prop picks and bets for Thursday, March 12.

VJ Edgecombe Over 19.5 Points (-106) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Edgecombe, a rookie and the third pick in last summer’s draft, played three games without Tyrese Maxey in his career, scoring at least 21 points in all of those instances. That’s a strong precedent ahead of tonight’s matchup with the Detroit Pistons, during which the Sixers will be without Maxey, Joel Embiid, and Kelly Oubre Jr.

Philly’s high-flying 20-year-old averaged 15.4 points per game and beat this number in four of his last six contests. The Pistons ranked sixth in points allowed per game over the last few weeks and held Edgecombe under this line in both of their previous matchups, but he should have enough opportunities to cash the over tonight.

Oso Ighodaro Over 8.5 Points (-136) at FanDuel Sportsbook

The Phoenix Suns’ acting starting center went under in back-to-back games after cashing the over in three straight. It’s worth noting that he only got to play 21 minutes in his last game and still got to eight points, and he’d played at least 24 minutes in six straight outings before that.

The Indiana Pacers are terrible defensively, ranking 29th in points in the paint allowed per game and dead last (by a wide margin) over their last 15 contests. This should be a solid outing for the Suns’ offense, and Ighodaro, one of the most unsuspecting names on the roster, could be the largest benefactor.

Victor Wembanyama Over 10.5 Rebounds (-138) at FanDuel Sportsbook

For as outstanding as Nikola Jokic is on the glass, averaging a league-high 12.5 per game, he hasn’t been able to hold a candle to Wemby. The young Frenchman logged 23, 18, 12, 15, 9, and 11 rebounds across all of their career matchups, going over in four straight matchups dating back to April 2024.

Wemby played 37 and 39 minutes in recent high-profile matchups with the Pistons and Celtics, showing that the coaching staff is willing to extend his leash when it’s warranted. He also went over this line in three of his last six and will have extra motivation because of the stakes.

Jayson Tatum Under 19.5 Points (-136) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Tatum is taking a ton of shots, and probably more than he should, as he works his way back onto the court from a torn Achilles. He averaged 18.7 field goal attempts per game while playing exactly 27 minutes in three straight games, and he partially disrupted the flow of the Celtics’ offense.

With Jaylen Brown presumably not getting ejected for a second straight game, the Thunder playing some of the best defense in the NBA, and Tatum only shooting 39.3 percent from the field and 29 percent from three, I expect this to be a slow day at the office. OKC also ranked second in points allowed per game.

LeBron James Over 18.5 Points (-130) at FanDuel Sportsbook

Whether or not the Los Angeles Lakers are truly a better basketball team without LeBron, they certainly played like it recently. That’s not to say that James is killing them with his shots, given he’s at 60.5 percent from the field in March and went over in five of his last seven contests.

The Chicago Bulls ranked 25th in points allowed per game and ranked fourth in pace of play, ensuring there will be lots of possessions. James also had 24 points on 47.4 percent shooting in their only previous matchup this season.
