Boston Celtics vs. New York Knicks Betting Pick

The Boston Celtics finally won against the New York Knicks in Game 3. Much of their success was due to their efficient offense, as they had their best shooting night of the series. The Knicks will put up a fight in Game 4, particularly through Karl-Anthony Towns, who has shown an advantage in the paint. Another blowout victory likely isn’t in the cards, as the Knicks will keep it close in hopes of going into Boston with the lead.

Boston Celtics Preview

The Boston Celtics got back on the winning track in Game 3 after dropping back-to-back home games at TD Garden. They’re one game from drawing the series level and bringing home court advantage back in their favor. Look for Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown to lead the way for Boston when they take the court on Monday night.

Game 3 was crucial for the Celtics’ championship aspirations, and they were in classic form against the Knicks. Boston scored 115 points while hitting 20 threes on 50.0% efficiency from range. They won the first half 71 to 46 and never looked back en route to a Game 3 victory. When Game 4 tips off, the Celtics must rediscover that scoring form to level the series.

The Celtics made an all-around effort to find victory in Game 3, with five double-digit scorers leading them on the night. Star men Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown combined for 41 points, 15 rebounds, 12 assists, and seven made threes on 15-of-38 shooting. Reigning Sixth Man of the Year, Payton Pritchard led the team in scoring off the bench, putting up 23 points, four rebounds, and five made threes on 50.0% shooting.

Boston’s high expectations had them struggling against the spread this season. They posted a 42-47-1 ATS Record, ranking them 20th in the NBA. They have a 47.2% cover percentage, a +9.2 margin of victory, and a -0.2 ATS +/- this season. Game 3 saw the Celtics cover the spread (-5.5) and win outright (-252).

Regarding the Boston Celtics injury report, (F) Sam Hauser (Ankle) is questionable for Game 4 of the Eastern Conference Semifinals against the Knicks.

New York Knicks Preview

After an impressive two-game win streak to open the series, the New York Knicks faltered in Game 3, their first home game of the round. They’ll try to bounce back after a home blowout to maintain their advantage over the Celtics before hitting the road for Game 5 in Boston.

The New York Knicks started the series strong through Games 1 and 2 but struggled when the series shifted to their home court. The Knicks scored 93 points on 40.0% shooting but struggled from three-point range. In Game 3, the Knicks hit just five threes on 20.0% shooting–nowhere near enough to keep up with the Celtics’ scoring volume.

Once again, Jalen Brunson led the way for the Knicks, contributing 27 points, seven assists, four rebounds, and three made threes on 42.9% from the field and 37.5% from three. He was supported by Karl-Anthony Towns, who has improved over recent games, putting up 21 points, 15 rebounds, and one made threes despite shooting just 27.8% from three. The star pair need more from their supporting cast, like OG Anunoby and Josh Hart, if they hope to steal another game from the reigning champions.

The Knicks have been solid against the spread this season, posting a 46-44-1 ATS Record, ranking them ninth in the NBA. They own a 51.1% cover percentage, a +3.6 margin of victory, and a -0.7 ATS +/- this season. In Game 3 against the Celtics, New York failed against the spread, total, and moneyline.

The New York Knicks have no injuries at the moment.
