The Golden State Warriors are in a bind. The series shifts back to Minnesota on Wednesday night, and the Warriors are still without Stephen Curry in the lineup. Jimmy Butler will have to take center stage, but the stark difference in quality presents a grim outlook for the Warriors.
When Game 4 came to a close, the Golden State Warriors were put on the brink of elimination. While they had five double-digit contributors, their lack of success from three, 8-of-27, and turnover rate, 16, made it difficult to overcome the Timberwolves. Notably, they’ve struggled with their playmaking, dishing out 18 assists on 37 field goals in Game 4.
Jimmy Butler was brought in to help the Warriors make a final push for the postseason, but he struggled in Game 4, scoring 14 points, six rebounds, and three assists. Rising star Jonathan Kuminga led them in scoring, scoring 23 points off the bench. To overcome Minnesota in Game 5, the Warriors need more from their star men–that means Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green hold the fate of the Warriors in their hands.
The Golden State Warriors were one of the NBA’s more consistent teams against the spread, owning a 46-45-3 ATS Record, ranking them ninth in the NBA. They have a 50.6% cover percentage, a +2.7 margin of victory, and a -0.2 ATS +/- this season. Despite losing in Game 4 against the Timberwolves, Golden State hit over the total (201.5).
Regarding the Golden State Warriors injury report, (G) Stephen Curry (Hamstring) has been ruled out for Game 5 and is targeting a Game 6 return.

The Minnesota Timberwolves are one victory away from booking their ticket to the NBA Western Conference Finals! While they were competitive through the first half of Game 4, they dominated the second half to secure victory. Anthony Edwards has been brilliant in this series, and with the series back in Minneapolis, the Timberwolves are set for one more dominant victory.
The Timberwolves put on a strong offensive showing in Game 4. They scored 117 points on 49.4% shooting from the field and hit 16 threes, an impressive 47.1% efficiency. If there's an area they can improve for Game 5, it's their ball security, as the Timberwolves committed 21 turnovers in the victory.
As usual, Anthony Edwards stood out on the offensive side of the ball in Game 4, putting up 30 points, five assists, four rebounds, and six made threes on 52.4% from the field and 54.5% from three. However, Julius Randle led them in scoring, contributing 31 points, five rebounds, and four made threes on 52.4% shooting. Don't overlook Jaden McDaniels, who posted a 10-point, 13-rebound double-double in Game 4.
The Minnesota Timberwolves were a toss-up against the spread this season, putting up a 45-45-1 ATS Record and ranking 12th in the NBA. They have a 50.0% cover percentage, a +5.2 margin of victory, and a +0.9 ATS +/- this season. In their Game 4 win over the Warriors, Minnesota covered the spread (-4.5), hit over the total (201.5), and won outright (-188).
The Minnesota Timberwolves have no injuries at the moment.
