Best NY Online Casinos

My Top 4 NY Online Casinos

Were I to partner you with some of my favorite US online casinos, you might be a bit disappointed to find out that you won’t be able to access them from the Empire State. As stated, online casinos are still illegal in NY, but it’s just a matter of time before that will change.

For now, what I can do is recommend some of the top sweepstakes casinos that still operate in NY.

When you compare sweepstakes casinos and regular online casinos side by side, you’ll notice some significant differences. Sweepstakes casinos are similar to regular online casinos in that they offer the same games, but they don’t require real money to play. Instead, they use Gold Coins (GC) tokens, which you receive in small amounts for free each day. They also offer packs you can buy to get more of these tokens. Usually, when you buy these packs, you’ll also receive Sweepstakes Coins (SC) tokens for free. When you play with SC tokens, you can even win real monetary prizes.

However, the part about SC tokens is about to change. New York recently declared sweepstakes casinos illegal, and as a result, most sweepstakes casinos are either removing SC tokens to become full social casinos or have stopped operating in the state.

Now with that small explanation out of the way, here are my four recommended NY online casinos where you can play casino style games.

1. LuckyBird Casino

LuckyBird Homepage

Launched in 2022 by Atlantic Management B.V., LuckyBird Casino is a sweepstakes casino with a lot on offer. This social casino attracts thousands of monthly players, and it is clear to see why, given the exceptional service it provides to its consumers in terms of the selection of games and especially with the welcome bonus.

LuckyBird Casino has its finger on the pulse when it comes to slot titles, with over 700 in its library. There are 11 modern table games to play, but these games aren’t the site’s main concern.

One thing I liked about LuckyBird Casino is the inclusion of lesser-known game developers in its catalog, as most sweepstakes casinos' collections of games are usually dominated by bigger names such as Hacksaw Gaming. Here you can find titles from BGaming, 1Spin4Win, and more developers that provide quality titles that you may not have heard of. There are even exclusive titles such as Road Runner Rush and Super Bird, which you can only find at this sweepstakes casino.

An advantage to playing at sweepstakes casinos is the fact that the majority of them offer a no-deposit bonus on registration. After my account was fully verified, I received 5,000 Gold Coins, 1.41 Sweeps Coins, and 3 Treasure Chests, which I was able to use right away to start having some fun on the site.

If you’re a bit tech-savvy, you’ll be glad to hear that LuckyBird accepts all popular forms of cryptocurrencies for coin purchases.  However, if you’re not a cryptoholder, this won’t be the sweepstakes casino for you.

The worst aspect of LuckyBird Casino is the support. I had two options to contact the social casino via live chat or support email, but in all honesty, I’d have been better off seeking help on online forums, as the support quality wasn’t worth my time. After asking a question to the live chat system about the VIP club, I received an uninformative, bland response two hours later, which really counteracts the point of a live chat.

» If this has piqued your interest, you can read more about LuckyBird Casino in our review that goes more into depth on the specifics of the site.

2. SpeedSweeps

SpeedSweeps home page

SpeedSweeps is a new sweepstakes casino, only launching in May of 2025. This site is a go-to place for fans of slots, as this is the social casino’s primary focus. It makes the purchasing and redemption of coins incredibly easy, with ten separate payment options being viable for making transactions.

SpeedSweeps has a library of 2,200 slots, 9 table games, and 32 live dealer games, meaning that there is something for everyone. My favorite thing about SpeedSweeps is the categorization of games, as they are all clearly labeled, which makes finding the game you’re looking for as easy as making a layup in an empty gym

Like most sweepstakes casinos, SpeedSweeps offers a no-deposit welcome bonus upon account registration. When I signed up for the site, I received 50,000 Gold Coins and 1 Sweeps Coin. Although I was able to start playing right away, this is a fairly standard bonus at sweepstakes casinos and was nothing to sing from the rafters about.

An area where SpeedSweeps shines is in its payment methods. When I used the site, I could select from various payment methods, including bank transfers, credit/debit cards, Apple Pay/Google Pay, crypto, or Skrill, to make transactions. I opted to use my Visa debit card and had no issues, and I was shocked to see that when I redeemed my winnings, they were sent to my card instantly.

I found the SpeedSweeps customer service distinctly average. The team staffing the live chat and support email responses were prompt but perfunctory. After asking a question about not receiving any rewards from the Refer-a-Friend bonus, I received a quick but bland email that didn't really explain or help with the situation.

» SpeedSweeps does have a lot to offer, and you can get all the information you need in our SpeedSweeps review.

3. BetRivers.net

BetRivers.net Casino

BetRivers.net, developed by Rush Street Gaming in 2021, is a social casino offering a diverse range of 850+ games. It benefits from a welcome bonus that lets you play for free right away, along with other promotions that continually top up your virtual credits to keep the fun going.

Although there aren’t thousands of titles at BetRivers.net, its catalog of games has variety and quality. There are over 750 slots, more than 60 jackpots, 15 table games, and 20 live dealer games, which I had a lot of fun playing, as I could pick whatever I was fancying. Some games you won’t find anywhere else on the web, such as Hot Slot 777, which is an exclusive game to BetRivers.net from Wasdan. Unfortunately, few developers issue games to this social casino, which is a shame if you want to try titles from different developers.

When I created an account at BetRiver.net, I received only 250 virtual credits after my account was officially created. Compared to other sweepstakes casinos, this bonus is low, and it ran out quickly. However, other promotions on the site added virtual credits to my account, allowing me to play the titles on the site for free.

One of these promotions is the Daily Spin Wheel, which, believe it or not, you can use every single day. This grants players with virtual credits that they can use to play some of the slots, live dealer, or table games that BetRivers.net has on offer. I won a grand total of 6,000 virtual credits while reviewing the site, which was a welcome incentive to play. Additionally, I was able to claim 20 virtual credits every four hours by clicking on the ‘Claim 4-Hour Bonus Credits’ button found in the my account tab, meaning that there quite literally wasn’t an end to the enjoyment I was feeling.

The support I received at BetRivers.net was similar to the other two sweepstakes listed above, and it is not exactly the greatest. First off, the only way to contact customer support is via email, which is not the fastest option, especially if you are dealing with a time-sensitive issue.

I needed help with entering tournaments on the site, so I reached out to customer support. After two days, I eventually received a response stating that none were currently live, which was true. At the time I got my response, none were currently live. This left me hoping for a live chat, as I could have obtained that information much more quickly and actually participated in the tournament.

4. Spinfinite Casino

Spinfinite review

Spinfinite Sweepstakes Casino was launched by Forever Winning LLC in 2025. It offers numerous slots from top providers and a straightforward transaction process, but a less-than-inviting welcoming bonus.

As the name suggests, the only thing that you are going to find at Spinfinite is slots. Upon reviewing the site, I was pleased to see 370 slots, including some of the best slot games in the iGaming industry. Spinfinite offers niche categories for fans of specific games, including sections dedicated to fish table games

The welcome bonus at Spinfinite is underwhelming, to say the least, especially in comparison to other NY sweepstakes casinos. Yes, you can get access to it without spending any money, but you only get 3,000 Gold Coins, which gives you a very limited time to spend playing the slots on offer.

Luckily, there are daily chests, which give random amounts of GC and occasionally will drop an SC or two. In my case, I kept getting 500 GC day after day.

If the daily giveaway of GC wasn’t enough, I could always purchase additional GC packs using any of the four available payment methods: Visa, Mastercard, Google Pay, or online banking.

What lets the site down is how slowly prizes are redeemed, as it took nine days for anything to reach my account, which was one day faster than the site states.

An area worth mentioning about this sweepstakes casino is its excellent performance on mobile devices. Although there isn’t a Spinfinite Casino mobile app available, when I used it within my Safari browser on my iPhone, it worked flawlessly. It even worked better than it did on desktop, something that is somewhat of a rarity in the online casino industry.

You may have gathered that support at sweepstakes casinos isn’t the best, and Spinfinite Casino continues this trend. I was only able to use email (the address is fairly well hidden on the site) to contact a member of their team. After three days, I received a response, but by then I had resolved my issue by visiting online forums to source the solution.

Are Online Casinos Legal in New York?

In short, no. The use of online casinos is entirely prohibited in the state of New York: residents will have to find alternative methods if they want to gamble on their mobile or desktop devices.

New York law prohibits any online platform that incentivizes gambling. As of June 6, 2025, this includes the use of casinos that use virtual coins that can be redeemed for cash prizes (i.e. sweepstakes casinos). I know this sounds confusing, but read on, as you are still able to play at a handful of sweepstakes or social casinos in the state of New York.

New York Online Casinos Licensing and Regulation

On June 6, 2025, New York Attorney General Letitia James forced 26 online sweepstakes casinos that were operating in New York to stop operating within the state. These social casinos received cease and desist letters, and all have complied by discontinuing operations. The platforms that received these letters are:

  • Chanced

  • Chumba

  • DingDingDing

  • Fliff

  • Fortune Coins

  • Fortune Wheelz

  • Funrize

  • FunzCity

  • Global Poker

  • Golden Hearts Games

  • High 5 Casino

  • Jackpota

  • Luckyland

  • McLuck

  • Mega Bonanza

  • NoLimitCoins

  • Play Fame

  • RealPrize

  • Sidepot

  • SpinBlitz

  • Sportzino

  • SweepSlots

  • Sweeptastic

  • TaoFortune

  • Yay Casino

  • Zula Casino

This follows the signing of a new state bill, titled Senate Bill S5935A / Assembly Bill A6745A, which prohibits operators from supplying the residents of New York State with sweepstakes casinos. Although the use and servicing of sweepstakes is considered illegal in the eyes of the law, and operators that don’t abide by these rules are punishable with fines ranging from $10,000 to $100,000 and the potential loss of license, some are still running as usual, despite the consequences they may suffer.

At the federal level, the Unlawful Internet Gambling Enforcement Act of 2006 (UIGEA) prohibits payments being made unlawfully for illegal gambling, but does not technically ban online casinos. However, it contradicts itself, as any funds used for gambling that is deemed illegal by the state are prohibited. It’s a confusing and tricky subject, but players will not be penalized for using the sweepstakes listed above, so rest assured knowing you can still have fun playing on these sites, and I do fully expect that each one of them will either leave or change to a social casino, so you won’t have anything to worry about in the long run.

What Can We Expect Once Online Casinos Become Legal in New York

Although New York State may appear to be pushing for the total prohibition of online gambling, the rest of the country is shifting towards making changes to make online gambling more accessible and legal, which may change lawmakers' decisions in the future.

If the state were to make changes, here are some of the most significant changes we could see:

  • Licensing fees for operators: Operators would have to pay a one-off $2 million fee or face a fine of $10 million.

  • Gambling tax rates and revenue: Online casinos would most likely be taxed at a rate of 30.5%, which could bring a lot of money to the state coffers.

  • Expected operators to venture into the state: The major players would most likely begin providing residents of New York state with their services. These would likely include brands such as BetMGM, DraftKings, Caesars, FanDuel, and bet365, among potential others.

  • Financial projections: A conservative estimate is that the iGaming industry in New York state alone would generate $1 billion and accrue over $150 million in license fees.

This is just my opinion, and it is difficult to predict the decisions of lawmakers next week, let alone in five years. We will have to wait and see the outcome of the gambling industry within the state.

New York Casino Bonuses

As many sweepstakes casinos are not operating within the state of New York, finding the best NY casino bonuses won’t take you long. As currently the only types of casinos you can play in NY are sweepstakes, you are almost guaranteed to get your hands on a sweepstakes no-deposit casino bonus upon sign-up. Here are the best online casinos in New York and their bonuses:

New York Sweepstakes CasinoNew York Casino Bonus OfferNew York Bonus Code
LuckyBird Casino5,000 Gold Coins, 1.41 Sweeps Coins, and 3 Treasure ChestsNo bonus code needed
SpeedSweeps50,000 Gold Coins and 1 Sweeps CoinNo bonus code needed
BetRivers.net250 Virtual CreditsNo bonus code needed
Spinfinite Casino3,000 Gold CoinsNo bonus code needed

The bonuses offered at sweepstakes casinos are, in most cases, no-deposit bonuses, but other common bonuses that will be offered at traditional NY online casinos once they become legal are:

Deposit Match Bonus

A deposit match bonus is a standard bonus that is offered at online casinos. This is where you make your first deposit. The casino will match your payment to a certain amount, allowing you to place bets to double the value of your deposit.

No Deposit Bonuses

You will rarely see no deposit bonuses at online casinos, but they are a staple of sweepstakes casinos. These bonuses offer incentives just for signing up, all without spending any money on the site. They are a great way to start playing without any risk and see which games you like.

Regular US online casinos also offer this type of bonus, but they are pretty hard to come by.

Bonus Spins

Casinos often offer free or bonus spins to their players. Usually, they are linked to a specific slot, allowing players to spin reels for free without spending any money. You can withdraw winnings from free spins, but you’ll typically have to meet wagering requirements first.

Cashback Bonus

This bonus serves as a safety net for new players, allowing them to recoup a percentage of their losses. Cashback bonus will typically return a percentage of net losses in the previous period, and there will likely be a cap to the amount of cashback bonus that players will receive, so it is always worth reading the terms and conditions of the bonus before claiming it. Some of the best casino cashback bonuses give new players a 100% return on their net losses in the first 24 hours.

Available casino bonuses will differ depending on which New York online casino you are playing at, and the best thing to do is shop around for casinos and find the best casino bonuses that suit your needs and playing style. Some bonuses will require certain actions to activate them, such as entering a casino promo code, making a deposit, or checking the opt-in box at sign-up.

Online Casinos to Avoid

When searching for a good NY online casino, you need to check out a few things first. The most important aspect is licensing, which ensures that a casino holding a proper license will abide by the laws and regulations set forth by governing bodies

Regular US casinos and even sweepstakes casinos will not allow you to play from states where they are not licensed to operate. However, there are other casinos, commonly known as offshore casinos. Some of these offshore casinos end up on blacklists for engaging in unfair or unsafe practices. Blacklisted casinos are ones you should avoid at all costs, as they may refuse to pay out winnings, use rigged games, or mishandle your personal information.

I wanted to highlight the following three due to their shady practices and tendency to target NY players.

1. BetOnline Casino

This casino is based in Panama and is renowned for withholding payouts to its players. US citizens can access this site, but it is best to steer clear. Many reviews flag that when complaints are made, the support staff ignore them, and many have not gotten money out of the site. There is also a lot of speculation about the legitimacy of the casino, as they do not display their licenses.

2. Extreme Casino

Extreme Casino holds a license from the Curaçao Gaming Control Board, but this license is not recognized in the US. A lot of online reviews relate to rigged games. Many believe the available titles on the site are unfair, and there is considerable criticism of the casino for failing to pay out winnings or denying players the right to withdraw them.

3. Captain Jack Casino

This casino, named for the famous Disney character, is about as trustworthy as its namesake. It is currently operating without a license, and a lot of people who have used it report not receiving their winnings on time or at all. Since this casino is crypto-only, tracking payments is significantly more challenging. If something goes wrong, you won’t be able to recover your money.

New York Casino Games

Game selection will differ between casinos, but you can expect that each NY online casino will have a wide range of options, including fan favorite casino games and classic titles. Most sites feature slots, blackjack, baccarat, craps, roulette, video poker, and live dealer games, each offering its own style of play and unique appeal.

Let’s start with the most popular choice for many players: slots.

Slots

Slots dominate the game catalog at almost every casino in NY and across the country for a few key reasons. It’s easy to learn to play slots, the gameplay is straightforward, and the entry barrier is very low.

No matter which slot you pick to play, they all have similar mechanics, so to keep things interesting, the casino game designers develop a lot of different themed slots. Popular themes include Egyptian-themed slots, fantasy-themed slots, fruit-themed slots, espionage-themed slots, horror-themed slots… You name it, some developer will have themed a slot around it.

While the basics of slots are simple, each game still has its own personality. Factors like RTP (return to player), volatility, maximum win, and betting limits can all change the way a slot feels to play. Learning what these terms mean can help you choose games that suit your style, whether you prefer slow and steady sessions or high-risk, high-reward spins.

Beyond the basics, there are also special types of slots that mix up the gameplay.

  • Jackpot slots let you spin for huge prizes that grow over time, though they usually come with higher stakes.

  • Cascading reel slots, sometimes called tumbling or avalanche reels, replace winning symbols with new ones so you can score multiple wins in a single spin.

  • Megaways slots take things further by offering thousands of ways to win on every spin, keeping the action unpredictable and exciting.

Just as movies have their blockbuster studios, the slot world has its big-name developers. Some games even become franchises in their own right.

If you want to find the best slot games, you can find a list of them on our website.

Blackjack

Blackjack has been one of the most popular casino games since its inception in the early 1700s. It is said that it derives from a French card game named Chemin de Fer.

Learning how to play blackjack is simple, but mastering it can be challenging. The goal is to beat the dealer by getting as close as possible to 21 with the cards you are dealt. While that might sound simple, doing it consistently requires following a specific blackjack strategy.

When it comes to playing it, you will be able to find blackjack at the majority of online casinos in New York, usually sitting under its own section or within the ‘table games’ category within a site’s game library.

Finding blackjack at New York online casinos is easy, but if you have been wanting to find the greatest blackjack casinos, we have curated a list that will steer you in the right direction.

Baccarat

Baccarat is another classic casino favorite you’ll spot at many New York casinos. It is about as straightforward as gambling gets, with minimal decisions for you to make during play. Once the cards are dealt, you’re mostly along for the ride, which is a big part of its appeal.

The exact origin story of baccarat is a little murky, but many believe it first appeared in Italy in the 15th century before spreading across Europe. Today, online baccarat is often brought to life by big-name providers, with Evolution Gaming being the standout for its slick, high-quality tables.

Not every online casino offers baccarat, so finding a good spot to play can take some hunting. If you’re looking for the top options, we’ve rounded up a list of the best baccarat casinos for you.

Craps

Craps is a lively dice game where you bet on the outcome of the roll, wagering against the house. It has a bit of a learning curve since you’ll need to understand what different number combinations mean. While it’s not the most popular classic table game, you’ll still find craps at plenty of online casinos. Developers like GammaStack and AIS Technolabs are well-known for creating quality craps software.

If craps sounds like your kind of game, check out our list of the best US craps casinos around.

Roulette

Roulette is one of the most iconic casino games, and New York players can enjoy it online. You place bets on where a small ball will land on a spinning wheel (on colors, single numbers, or groups of numbers), all for the chance to win cash prizes. Companies such as GammaStack, BlockchainAppsDeveloper, Synarion IT Solutions, and Entrant Technologies are leaders in developing roulette games.

Finding roulette at online casinos won’t be an issue, but if you want a shortcut to the best roulette casinos, we’ve got you covered with our curated list.

Video Poker

Poker is one of the most popular games for online casino players, as it requires both skill and luck to beat other players, and the luck evens out over the long term. Video poker takes those skills into a solo game where you improve your hand by choosing which virtual cards to hold and which to draw but takes out the human element of bluffing. Trust me, I tried to bluff the machine, and it didn’t work. Definitely stick to a well-known video poker strategy, and you’ll have better chances.

If you are looking for great video poker casinos, check out our carefully selected list.

Live Dealer Games

Live dealer games are the closest you can get to a real-world casino visit without leaving the comfort of your recliner. Essentially, live dealer games are casino games such as blackjack, roulette, and baccarat, and wheel-of-fortune style studio games, where players can play alongside other players with a host. This offers a more personalized experience than virtual table games, which is something that many casino players look for.

Live dealer games are incredibly popular at NY online casinos, but if you’ve been searching for the best live dealer casinos, we have you covered with our in-depth article about where you can find them.

New York Online Casino Payment Methods

When New York legalizes online casinos, you can expect a familiar set of casino payment choices you already see elsewhere in the US. For depositing, you will usually find Visa and Mastercard, e-wallets like PayPal and Venmo, bank transfers or ACH, mobile wallets such as Apple Pay, and prepaid or cash options like Paysafecard and PayNearMe. Don’t expect to see Google Pay and cryptocurrencies. Both of these can’t be used to fund online casino gambling.

You can expect all of your deposits to be almost instant, but withdrawals take quite a bit when compared to deposits. The withdrawal speed will depend on the casino internal review period and the payment method you use. E-wallets are the fastest, bank transfers and card withdrawals take a few business days, and cash options require a trip to a cage or retail partner. Most casinos use a closed-loop system, meaning they will try to return your winnings to the same method you used to deposit, so plan ahead if you prefer a particular cashout route.

You should also expect basic checks before your first withdrawal. Identity and address verification are standard to meet anti-money laundering rules, and that one-time check can slow your first cashout. To avoid any casino withdrawal problems, you can finish this identity check before you send your first request, and I recommend you do it.

When it comes to minimum casino deposits, there aren’t any hard rules. The industry standard is $10, with few going even lower and offering $5 and $1 minimum casino deposits, but there are also those that have set $20 as their minimum deposit. The same goes for withdrawals.

How We Rate Casinos

At WSN, when we rate casinos, we follow strict rating guidelines, and for each casino, we follow the same process. This ensures that we treat every casino fairly and that we are consistent with how we rate them. We test each casino we use and don’t rely on other reviews available online to form our opinions. When I start planning to write my reviews, I act just as you would: I sign up to the site, make deposits, play games, place bets, test payment methods, trial the customer support systems, access promotions, and complete KYC verification.

We spend a minimum of 12 hours on the site, which gives us a good understanding of how it operates and allows us to compile our likes and dislikes. The time we spend provides insight into whether a casino is worth your time.

As the online casino landscape is constantly evolving, we stay current with all the news, legislation, and developments that impact the iGaming industry. Every month, we review our content to make updates and address any changes that may impact your experience playing at a casino.

When examining a casino's specifics, we test all its features, including placing bets, site navigation, functionality on other devices, and bonuses, among other aspects. Additionally, when comparing casinos, such as the best online casinos in New York, we examine other accessible casinos in the area to gain a better understanding of what sets a particular casino apart or makes it blend into the crowd.

Why You Should Trust Us

We are one of the leading resources for everything related to gambling in the United States of America. Our team of casino experts has 20 years of experience and a wealth of knowledge in the iGaming industry, and we aim to provide you with the honest truth about our experiences when playing at online casinos. We don’t just hop on a site for a couple of minutes and then write about it; we spend hours tracing the exact steps a player would take to aid us in writing honest and unbiased reviews:

  • Our team is comprised of over 40 gambling experts who have years of experience working in the iGaming and casino industries, which helps shape the writing of our reviews.

  • We spend 12 hours on every site we test, giving us a good understanding of how a casino shapes up.

  • When we test online casinos, we approach them with fresh eyes, and our opinions are shaped by our own experiences.

  • We have reviewed hundreds of online casinos.

Responsible Gambling

We want you to have the most positive experience when gambling at online casinos in New York. Be aware that the range of responsible gambling tools - such as self-exclusion tools, time limits, deposit limits, and more - at online casinos will differ from site to site.

If you are looking for gambling support in the State of New York, here are some helpful links:

  • New York Council on Problem Gambling (NYCPG): This is a non-profit organization that spreads awareness around problem gambling and supports those who may be suffering from gambling-related issues in New York state.

  • NYS OASAS HOPEline: The New York State Office of Addiction Services and Supports is one of the United States’ largest substance abuse charities, but they also help people struggling with gambling addiction and provide resources and support to those in need.

  • National Problem Gambling Helpline: Operated nationwide by the National Council on Problem Gambling (NCPG), people can access anonymous support, referral services, self-assessment tools, and peer connection forums via call, text, or chat 24/7.

Even if you gamble for fun and within your means, it is always wise to know of the responsible gambling measures that can help keep it that way.
