This is one of the highest Gold Coin amounts in a no deposit sweeps welcome bonus, compared to 100,000 GC at Crown Coins or RealPrize Casino.

The Stormrush welcome offer isn’t the highest I’ve seen for free SC, for example 2.5 SC at LoneStar or SpinBlitz. Still, some sweepstakes casinos don’t include any SC in the welcome offer. The huge amount of GC is plenty to get started.

Daily Charger

Daily Charger is the Stormrush daily login bonus, in the form of a seven-day progressive reward. This reward becomes available once your profile is completed. In my week reviewing Stormrush, these were the daily rewards I claimed:

• Day 1: 10,000 GC + 0.1 SC

• Day 2: 20,000 GC + 0.2 SC

• Day 3: 30,000 GC + 0.3 SC

• Day 4: 40,000 GC + 0.4 SC

Thunder Wheel

On top of the daily login bonus, there’s a prize wheel available twice a day. The Thunder Wheel offers prizes from one to five SC or 60,000 to 250,000 GC. It can be accessed via a button in the header, or appears as a pop-up when available.

Of the 12 slices on the wheel, half are SC, half are GC, but I landed GC prizes more often than not.

Coin Battery

This Stormrush promo is an interesting format that I’ve not seen on other top sweepstakes sites. Play selected games to charge the Coin Battery and increase your charge level with wins in participating games. Featured games are listed with Return to Player (RTP) percentage boosts between 0.3% and 2%, including Big Banker Bonanza (1.7% boost) and Red Planet Rapid Link (0.5% boost). The promotion doesn’t list average RTP on each game until you open it and read the game info.

Once you’ve filled the charge bar past the minimum threshold, discharge the battery to receive winnings up to 50 SC.

Referral Bonus

Each account has a unique referral link, which you’ll find by clicking on Refer a Friend in the side menu. Copy the link to share with friends or use the Facebook or WhatsApp share buttons. Once your friend signs up via your link and purchases $20 worth of Gold Coin packs, you’ll share a 900,000 GC and 25 SC reward. That’s 500,000 GC and 20 SC for you, and 400,000 GC and 5 free SC for your friend.

This referral bonus can be claimed more than once, but remember that the person joining each time needs to spend at least $20 to activate the reward.

Mail-In Bonus (AMOE)

Mail-in requests to Stormrush receive 1 SC per complying request. I’ve seen higher Alternative Method of Entry (AMOE) sweepstakes bonuses, like 4 SC per postal request at Mega Bonanza, but Stormrush allows players to claim this reward multiple times.

You’ll need to hand-write the request on white paper and send it in a first-class stamped envelope. Stormrush stipulates that it will only award one SC to an account for eligible postal requests per day, so don’t try to play the system by writing and sending a bunch of requests in one go. Requests must comply exactly with instructions to be eligible, so check the terms on the website carefully.

VIP Club

VIP Club is the loyalty program at Stormrush, with increasing perks and rewards across the ten tiers. You earn points from gameplay to advance in levels and the progress bar shows exactly how many points are needed for the next tier and the benefits available.

New players join on Level I, although this is a bit misleading as there are no rewards or benefits for this level. Upon reaching Level II, players receive a weekly reward of a percentage of your previous week’s played amount, plus a one-time reward for leveling up. Other VIP Club benefits include: exclusive promotions (Level IV+), birthday gift (Level VI+), quick reward access (Level VII+), and a personal VIP manager (Level VIII).

Stormrush Casino User Experience

Stormrush immediately impressed me with its top-tier theming: it’s one of the strongest visual experiences I’ve found across sweepstakes casinos. The site uses a black, green and gold color scheme, with vibrant green and gold lightning making the graphics pop. I was treated to this consistent artwork at every opportunity, from prize wheels and chests illustrated in dark green rock with glowing lightning veins, to luminous menu options and site buttons, and lightning background and banners throughout the games lobby.

Desktop

The desktop site is organised with a sparse top menu featuring an icon for the collapsible sidebar, and buttons for Games, Thunder Wheel, balance, shop, and notifications. Clicking on your balance allows you to toggle between GC and SC play. Expanding the side menu brings up a quick view of your VIP level, Thunder Wheel, the current Best Deal, regular promotions, games page, account, support, and more. I found that any page I needed quick, regular access to was easy to find.

As you scroll down the home page, you’ll find game sections, latest winners, promotions, providers, themes and more. Within the games library, there’s a search bar and filter options including Providers, Top, New, Jackpot, and Fishing, but I didn’t spot an option to filter for Megaways, Table Games or Plinko.

I came across these games when exploring the collection, and there’s a section further down the home page for table games, but I feel this is a missed opportunity for players to quickly spot these popular categories and start playing. Considering it’s only the first month and some of these games have been added since the launch, I hope this will be improved soon.

Mobile

There’s no Stormrush mobile app, but I was able to use the site on my mobile browser. The strong theming and visual design elements that impressed me on the desktop version apply to the mobile site, and I could appreciate the illustrations better when resized for my phone screen.

The layout is slightly different on mobile as menus have been rearranged to suit handheld devices. The top menu has the Stormrush logo as a home button and the same balance, shop, and notification buttons. On the homepage, the promotion banners are now a tile carousel rather than multiple promotions on screen at once, and scrolling down the page I found the same game sections and features as on desktop. At the bottom of the screen is a menu with buttons for Lobby, Streak, Wheel, Promotions, and the same expandable side menu as before.

Games are also reformatted, now taking up the screen in portrait mode, with the top menu still visible. I had no issues with loading and playing the games on mobile and enjoyed the full-screen view.

Slot games make up the majority of the Stormrush library with 1150+ games. You won’t find anything from the biggest developers like Playtech, NetEnt or Novomatic, but players will recognize games like Wild Buffalo Megaways by Netgame and BGaming’s Joker vs Joker.

Navigating the comprehensive selection is fairly simple with the filters and search bar, but it would be improved with more specific options for Megaways and Hold & Win, for example. If you like a particular theme, such as Animals, Fantasy, or Joker’s Jackpot, you’ll find plenty of options across these and more.

If you prefer to play particular game formats, choices include Rapid Link, Cascading Reels, Bonus Buy, Megaways, Hold ‘n’ Link, and Jackpots. I was pleased to see a progressive jackpot network on Stormrush, as some sweepstakes casinos don’t offer this, such as Rich Sweeps. The 28 games in this section contribute toward a progressive Sweeps Coins jackpot (over 2,900 SC during my review) or a Gold Coins jackpot, which I saw reach 44,550,000 GC.

I spotted a twist on the popular Wild West theme in the New section, with Bisonado Prizematch from Kalamba. I started with the lowest stake option of 200 GC (in this mode, you can stake up to 12,000 GC) and in a couple of minutes, I activated the free spins bonus round. Set against the eponymous swirling Bisonado, my bonus spins landed me the Prize Match feature, which gave me a 15x multiplier.

Table Games

For a break from the storm of slots, there’s a bit of variety in the table games section. Options are limited though, with only seven games. There are six Blackjack variants, from Netgame and BGaming, and one Baccarat game from Netgame.

It’s an improvement on some sweepstakes sites like Scarlet Sands, which don’t offer table games, but doesn’t compare to a comprehensive selection including roulette, casino poker, blackjack and baccarat, which you can find at Sweeps Royal or Global Poker.

Variety Games

The rest of the Stormrush game selection is a mix of formats. There are nine fish shooter games, including Egypt Fishing, Thunder Fishing, and Galaxy Fishing. These games are popular with players for their active player involvement but aren’t common across sweepstakes casinos, so although it’s a small selection, it’s a valuable addition.

Other alternative games on Stormrush include ten Plinko titles, a few cascading cluster merge games, and one crash game. There’s no section for these alternative games and I came across most of them while looking through individual provider pages. Confusingly, only one Plinko game came up when I searched for it.

Like any reputable sweepstakes casino, Stormrush is free to play. You do not need to risk any money to enjoy the site and play games, although optional Gold Coin packs are available to purchase if you wish.

While this is a limited range compared to some sweepstakes casinos, the inclusion of PayPal sets it above card-only sites like Scarlet Sands. The minimum purchase amount is $4.99, which is fairly standard for similar social casinos.

I purchased one of the promotional Energy Packs as part of the welcome offer, claiming 750,000 GC and 40 free SC for $19.99. After making my purchase, the Redeem option became available, although I had to play through my Sweeps Coins once before they were eligible.

Prize redemptions start at 25 SC for gift cards via Prizeout, with cash prizes available from 50 SC for PayPal and 100 SC for push-to-card. This 50 SC threshold for PayPal is lower than the standard cash prize minimum of 100 SC at most sweepstakes sites.

I requested a gift card for my first prize redemption. Once approved, I received an email from Prizeout in a few hours with my e-gift card code. Later in my Stormrush review week, I had enough eligible SC to request a PayPal cash prize. This took just under two days, which is the standard timeframe stated for all methods except for Mastercard, which can take up to five days. For push-to-card withdrawals, check that your card provider accepts these without charging you a fee.

Similar to other A1 Development brands, players must make a purchase before prize redemption becomes available. The casino states that this is because part of its identity verification process is verifying a valid payment method. This is my biggest issue with Stormrush and its A1 sister sites, as although it’s free to play, the potential prizes are a big part of sweepstakes casino gaming for many players.

What’s the Difference Between Stormrush and a Real Money Casino?

Stormrush is a sweepstakes casino and not a real money casino. Stormrush uses two types of virtual currency: Gold Coins and Sweeps Coins. Players can obtain these for free, and you play games using these coins rather than wagering deposited funds. Sweepstakes casinos allow players to enjoy online casino games for free, without putting their real money at risk.

The welcome offers and other promotions are appealing and, once inside, the engaging design and breadth of the games library kept me entertained.

The daily streak might be less than some sites offer, but combined with the Thunder Wheel and intriguing Coin Battery promotion, there’s plenty of free coins to keep players topped up. Speaking of topping up, however, I’m not impressed with the requirement to spend money to redeem prizes. It’s still free to play, but it’s a disappointing take on the “no purchase necessary” ethos of sweepstakes gaming.

On to games: for a brand new casino, nearly 1,200 games is an awesome start.
