If TGL was designed to entertain, Jupiter Links certainly played their part in Season 1.
Tiger Woods’ team provided plenty of laughter and energy in the SoFi Center but unfortunately couldn’t back it up with results.
They managed just one win in five games and won fewer holes (10) in the regular season than any of their five rivals.
Tiger should be present again for their opening match of Season 2 but only in a non-playing role as he recovers from yet another back procedure.
His place on the team is taken by a TGL newcomer, Akshay Bhatia.
New York Golf Club finished runner-up to Atlanta Drive in the inaugural TGL and has started Season 2 with another loss (6-4) to the same opponent.
But they’re one of the strongest teams in TGL and are clear favorites to get on the board with victory on Tuesday night.
This is Match 4 of Season 3 following Atlanta Drive’s 6-4 win over New York, Boston Common’s 7-5 victory against Los Angeles GC and Atlanta’s 7-4 success against The Bay.
In the outright market, Boston Common leads the way at +275.
It’s then +280 Atlanta Drive, +500 Los Angeles Golf Club, New York Golf Club, The Bay Golf Club, +900 Jupiter Links.
| Jupiter Links GC | New York Golf Club |
|---|---|
| Player 1 - Akshay Bhatia | Player 1 - Rickie Fowler |
| Player 2 - Max Homa | Player 2 - Matt Fitzpatrick |
| Player 3 - Kevin Kisner | Player 3 - Cameron Young |
Each match consists of two teams of three playing 15 holes across two sessions on a selection of custom-designed holes
Triples: Holes 1-9 - Each team of three playing in alternate-shot format
Singles: Holes 10-15 - One-vs-one, head-to-head competition for the entire hole. Each player from each team plays a total of two full holes
Modern match play is the scoring system. Each hole is worth 1pt
If the match is tied after 15 holes, Overtime (best-of-three, closest-to-the-pin) kicks in
The Hammer (each team gets three per match) allows teams to increase the points value of a single hole. The flag/towel is thrown down by a team official to signal its use and can be accepted or declined
Akshay Bhatia
Bhatia reportedly turned down a lucrative offer to join LIV in recent weeks. Instead he pops up here as Tiger’s stand-in and should get plenty of chances to show his skills for the Florida team with Woods unavailable. The left-hander, who finished 13th in the 2025 FedExCup standings, was 14th for SG: Approach last season and 35th in Putting. He plays Rickie Fowler in Singles and will be the first left-hander to take part in TGL.
Max Homa
Homa’s tough 2025 campaign included being part of a Jupiter Links team that struggled for wins. But towards the end of last year there were good signs and many are tipping him for a bounceback season on the PGA Tour in 2026. He may also benefit from taking more of a leadership role with Tiger sidelined.
Kevin Kisner
Kisner is more of a presence in the commentary booth than on the golf course these days but the veteran did post a top 10 at July’s ISCO Championship. He’ll also want to make more of an impact with his golf in this format, his highlights from 2025 more to do with banter and giggles. He faces a tough Singles opponent in Cam Young.

Rickie Fowler
After sitting out the opening 6-4 loss to Atlanta Drive, Fowler will hope to be a game changer for their second match. He certainly had his highlight moments in Season 1 and was part of more Triples holes won (22) than any other player. He’s a natural fit for the format and atmosphere. Fowler showed some better signs at the end of the regular season in 2025 with a couple of top 10s.
Matt Fitzpatrick
Fitzpatrick, as did New York, took time to find his feet in Season 1 but he definitely embraced the loose and rowdy indoor vibe as NYGC reached the Finals. He’s already made an impact in Season 2 by winning both his Singles matches against Corey Conners in the 6-4 defeat to Atlanta. An excellent end to 2025, including a key role in Europe’s Ryder Cup win, suggests he can make another impact here.
Cameron Young
Young also became more of a force as Season 1 progressed. Young banked his first PGA TOUR win in 2025 and emerged as top-scorer (alongside New York GC teammate Xander Schauffele) for the US in the Ryder Cup defeat at Brookline so he’s a genuine force to be reckoned with. The American won one and lost one of his two Singles in New York’s opening loss.

It will be great to see Tiger Woods in the SoFi Center but it’s hard to envisage the great man celebrating a win for his team on Tuesday evening.
Akshay Bhatia is a good addition to Jupiter Links but New York knows the ropes and Cam Young v Kevin Kisner in Singles is an obvious area where NYGC can gain an edge.
Young will smash it way, way beyond Kisner and one of their two holes is a Par 5 which suits the big hitters.
Beyond Singles, New York has also forged a reputation as one of the best Triples teams in the tournament.
They’ve won 25 Triples points, a tally only matched by The Bay Golf Club.
Last season, New York won this match-up 10-3 when fielding the exact same trio of Fowler, Fitzpatrick and Young. At one point they led 8-0.
Expect a repeat and, although the market is lopsided, take New York at -150 with bet365.
