Manchester City need to deliver an all-time great Champions League performance to stand a chance of advancing to the quarter-finals. They were second best throughout the first leg of their last-16 tie against Real Madrid, and a 3-0 defeat at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu has left Pep Guardiola’s side on the cusp of elimination.
Is there any hope for City? An early goal would potentially make Real Madrid nervous, although it is hard to see them overturning such a significant deficit. However, City can at least put their opponents under pressure by holding a lead at half-time of this second-leg clash at the Etihad Stadium. Back City to be in front after 45 minutes.

Liverpool still have work to do after losing 1-0 to Galatasaray in Istanbul, but the situation is salvageable. The Turkish giants are difficult to beat on home turf, but they tend to struggle away from home. Liverpool are favorites to go through to the last eight and there is a good reason for that.
Arne Slot’s side have been mediocre at times this season, so the second leg is not a foregone conclusion. But with the Anfield crowd behind them every step of the way, Liverpool should overturn that 1-0 deficit. We would not be surprised if they won this game by three goals or more.

Arsenal needed a late Kai Havertz penalty to avoid defeat by Bayer Leverkusen last week. The German side more than held their own for long periods of the match at the BayArena, although Arsenal came on strong in the second half and were good value for their equalizer. Now the tie will be decided at the Emirates Stadium on Tuesday.
Leverkusen should not be written off. They are a decent team who showed they are capable of causing Arsenal one or two problems in the first meeting between the pair. But the Gunners are one of the best teams in world soccer right now and their defense will be difficult to break down at the Emirates Stadium. Go for a home win and a clean sheet to boot.

Bayern Munich have one foot in the quarter-finals after a dazzling display in Bergamo last week. Vincent Kompany’s team turned on the style against Atalanta, winning the away leg 6-1 to take the pressure off the return fixture. It would take an astonishing collapse for Bayern to throw it all away from here.
We cannot see that happening. In fact, with Atalanta virtually out of it already, Bayern are likely to win comfortably once again. Kompany’s side are arguably the most attacking outfit in Europe right now, so the goals should flow once again. We anticipate at least four being scored by both teams combined.

Newcastle United were minutes away from a famous victory over Barcelona last Tuesday, only to concede a last-gasp penalty. Lamine Yamal converted the spot-kick, so Barca left St James’ Park with a 1-1 draw. The aggregate score may be level, but the Blaugrana hold an obvious advantage ahead of the second leg.
Newcastle can be an effective team on the counter-attack, but they have one of the worst away records in the Premier League this term. Barcelona, for their part, have been tremendous at home for most of the season. Hansi Flick’s side should have too much for Newcastle in this one - go for a home win.

After 70 minutes of last week’s first leg, Paris Saint-Germain and Chelsea were level at 2-2. Then PSG took things up a gear, eventually winning 5-2. It is a result which has left the Blues in a very difficult position ahead of the second leg at Stamford Bridge. PSG are now clear favorites to go through.
It is not over yet, of course, but Chelsea’s defensive issues will probably prevent them overturning a three-goal deficit. As a standalone match, however, Liam Rosenior’s side are capable of coming out on top here. We fancy Chelsea to win on the night, but PSG to advance to the last eight of the competition.
