LA Galaxy vs Orlando City SC 2025 08 31

LA Galaxy vs. Orlando City SC Betting Prediction

LA Galaxy Preview

On Wednesday, Greg Vanney and his men's magical run dreaming of silverware came to a halt. The defending MLS champions were outclassed on their home pitch, facing the Seattle Sounders and losing 2-0 in the semifinals. The Galaxy were held off the scoreboard for only the third time since the start of June.

During the tournament's first round, the Galaxy's attacking displays saw the club accumulate 10 goals. The trio of Gabriel Pec, Joseph Painstil, and Matheus Nascimento were the driving force up front and could be very active again in Sunday’s third-place match. The trifecta of attacking players has combined for eight goals during this edition of the Leagues Cup.

Orlando City SC Preview

After going unbeaten in eight consecutive games, Óscar Pareja’s men suddenly look vulnerable, dropping their previous two matches entering Sunday’s clash. Only twice this season across all competitions has Orlando lost in consecutive outings. The Lions’ Leagues Cup trophy ambitions were dashed on Wednesday, losing 3-1 to their Florida derby counterparts, Inter Miami CF, in the semifinals.

The Croatian internationally capped forward Marco Pasalic was the lone Orlando player to breach the opposition on Wednesday. His debut season with the Lions hasn’t hindered the club's performance as the 24-year-old has stockpiled 14 goals and five assists in 34 appearances covering all competitions. The playmaking winger should be an impact the pitch with his active boots, averaging 3.26 shots per 90.

LA Galaxy vs. Orlando City SC - My Pick

Despite the Galaxy enjoying playing at home, we feel Orlando has enough to knock off the home side. 11 of the 14 road games this term in MLS have seen Orlando City leave with a result in their back pocket. The Galaxy possesses an impressive front three, but compared to the Lions, employees Pasalic, Ojeda and Muriel are one of the key reasons they sit fifth in the Eastern Conference in MLS.

The three players are unstoppable when performing at their peak, amassing 67 goal contributions throughout all fixtures played this year. Both clubs have something to play for, but we feel Orlando has the quality to overcome this road obstacle and anchor down their third CCC qualification in the last four years.
