The Orioles remain a long shot to make the playoffs in 2025, but Tyler O’Neill is doing everything he can to make that happen. The 30-year-old has been hampered by injuries this season, but returned earlier this month with a hot bat. He now has four home runs over the week, giving him plenty of reason to back him to go deep tonight.

The Brewers were concerned enough about the health and offensive struggles of Contreras to trade for Danny Jansen. The former All-Star got the message and has responded by finally heating up at the plate. He sees the ball well, and he is once again starting to hit some home runs.
Contreras isn’t considered to be a true power hitter, but Nats’ starter Jake Irvin (8-5, 4.69 ERA, 1.29 WHIP) would beg to differ. He has faced the catcher 12 times and allowed four hits, two home runs, five RBIs, and three walks. While Contreras’s 2025 campaign has seen his offensive numbers dip, Irvin hasn’t shown any growth, making it hard to believe he’ll be able to turn the tables today.
Given that Irvin has allowed the second-most home runs (23) in the league, we are more than confident in backing the hot bat of Contreras today.

O’Neill hit 30+ home runs for the second time in his career last season, but he’s been limited to just 40 games by injury in 2025. He returned to the team on July 4 and has five home runs and an impressive .931 OPS since then. Four of those long balls have come over the last week, showing that he has shaken off any rust and is returning to his impressive 2024 form.
The Orioles veteran slugger will be facing a struggling young Cubs pitcher on the mound. Ben Brown (5-7, 6.22 ERA, 1.48 WHIP) has regressed significantly in 2025 and is 2-4 with a 7.11 ERA and 1.52 WHIP over his last six starts. A lot of that damage has been coming from the long ball, with the starter surrendering seven home runs over his previous 14 innings pitched.
O’Neil is the only member of the Orioles who has faced Brown before, hitting one home run in two at-bats.

The Astros may have saved their AL West title hopes by trading for Correa on Thursday. The trade brings the shortstop back to Houston, adding a key bat to replace Isaac Paredes. While the veteran hasn’t hit 20+ home runs since 2022, we believe the excitement of returning to the Astros amid an intense playoff race will give him extra fuel tonight.
Another reason we like Correa to go long tonight is Red Sox starter Walker Buehler (6-6, 5.72 ERA, 1.54 WHIP). The 31-year-old has seen his numbers get worse over the last three seasons. While his 3.57 ERA in July has improved his overall stats, he looked far from impressive. Considering he went 1-3 with an 11.07 in June, we don’t expect his improved play to last.
Correa has faced Buehler in just five at-bats, but has taken him deep once.
