Reds’ starter Brady Singer (4-2, 3.66 ERA, 1.14 WHIP) has been a reliable piece of the rotation in his first season with the team. One big reason for his success has been his dominance the first time through a lineup. Opponents own a .186 average in their first at-bat against him, combining to score just three runs over 59 at-bats (0.46 ERA).

The Astros will have Lance McCullers on the mound to start this one. The veteran returned from a flexor injury to deliver 3 ⅔ scoreless innings in his first start since the 2022 World Series. While backing a pitcher that’s missed that much time can be risky, we are willing to do so thanks to several key Cincinnati hitters mired in slumps.

Boston Red Sox vs. Kansas City Royals - Garrett Crochet vs. Cole Ragans (7:10 PM, EST)

Garrett Crochet (3-2, 2.02 ERA, 1.06 WHIP) continues to show he was worth the massive contract the Red Sox gave him. We expect him to continue doing so tonight against the Royals team he dazzled against in 2024. While Kansas City has been finding its offensive stride lately, it will take time for them to adjust to a red-hot Crochet in the first inning.

Cole Ragans (2-1, 3.79 ERA, 1.15 WHIP) is off to another strong start in 2025. The veteran broke a mini-slump by delivering five scoreless innings last week. Boston will present far more of a challenge, but Ragans has proven he is up to it. With the Red Sox batting just .182 against him, look for a quick, easy first inning tonight.

Best YRFI Bets Today

• Milwaukee Brewers vs. Tampa Bay Rays - Tobias Myers vs. Taj Bradley

We like this bet primarily because Taj Bradley (3-2, 4.43 ERA, 1.33 WHIP) will be on the mound for Tampa. He hasn’t been sharp in 2025, especially early on in games. Opponents are posting a .862 OPS against him the first time through the lineup, leading to several runs scoring early. With the top of the Milwaukee lineup finally getting hot, expect an ugly first inning from Bradley.

• Baltimore Orioles vs. Los Angeles Angels - Kyle Gibson vs. Jack Kochanowicz

Not a great price for an NRFI bet, but this one is too good to pass up. Kyle Gibson (0-1, 14.09 ERA) has been unable to miss bats across his first two starts, and there is little reason to think that will change tonight. Even if he does, we’ll still be able to cover this bet with Jack Kochanowicz (1-5, 5.79 ERA, 1.50 WHIP) on the mound, who has a brutal .346 OBA the first time through the lineup.
